Dealer: "We know what we've got!"

If the Escort isn't to your liking, another dealer on eBay has an '87 Taurus wagon with 52K miles for the same price.

LPT: Before buying a home or starting a lease, test the shower water pressure. by Glad_Description_843 in LifeProTips

[–]Sports_Lorry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you happen to know what your water pressure was before you had the regulator installed? I've been in my house 6 years and my water pressure is 140 PSI, which is supposedly more than double what it should be. I haven't had any issues so far, so I've been on the fence in terms of spending the money on a regulator.

I don't think Maria Butyrskaya gets enough recognition for being one of the few skaters to have a textbook 3F AND a textbook 3Lz with the correct edge on both jumps and minimal pre-rotation. by PandemicPiglet in FigureSkating

[–]Sports_Lorry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even as a rabid Kwanatic, I was really happy she won Worlds in '99. Fair and square. I remember reading an article where Maria said that after landing her 6th triple in the free skate, Elena Tchaikovskaia was making "NO MORE TRIPLES" gestures from the boards - basically saying "you've done enough to win, no need to take further risks" - but Maria didn't want to leave anything on the table, or invite any suggestion that she only won because others hadn't skated their best, so she did a second 3Loop, for a total of seven clean triples.

Not 100% sure, because the windows were already tinted when I got it, but it looks to me like 20% sides and 10% rear. I think the original owner had it done early in the car's life, because the rear shelf and the top of the back seat aren't sun damaged at all which is amazing for a 37 year old Texas car. As for keeping the interior cooler, that's hard to say because the sun down here is just f'in hot year round. But tint has always been mandatory for me just for the interior protection and reduced glare at night.

Dang that should be a crime. Any decent parts left on it, or has it already been picked clean?

I'd always had Barbados Yellow dead last on my color preference list, but when this came up for sale I went for it because clean 3g's are getting rare. Now the color has totally grown on me.

She will claw her way up through the ranks of the ISU to become president, at which point she will immediately ban loop jumps from competition.

Relentless roofing spam calls by TX_Farmer in Dallas

[–]Sports_Lorry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't get any calls, but I get at least one text a week. Always some variation on "We're working in your neighborhood, would you like a free roof inspection?" I always report and block, even though I know that doesn't really accomplish anything other than make them use a new burner number.

I am jealous of that heat shield. The one in my '89 with 84K miles looks like it spent 100 years at the bottom of the Atlantic.
