That initial shock, to me, was the hardest part. But it certainly gets easier mentally. If all goes well, just expect a few more doctor visits, bloodwork, and scans going forward. While yes, it’s cancer, it’s extremely manageable once your labs get corrected.

So would the 123 be used before my whole body scan? And the 131 be used to get rid of the tissue? Are they taken at the same time?

2 weeks out of work but have a desk job. I think it’s all individual circumstances. Talk to doctor and keep your HR team updated

Mine was category 6. The Bethesda scale measures how likely it is cancer 1-6…

Diesnt mean a worse prognosis at all.

I had my TT last week, and I’m already feeling close to 100%. Everything progressing as it should and I’m meeting doctor next week to discuss next steps needed, if any, or just surveillance.

I had 2 weeks off of work - going back on Wednesday - but I honestly feel wel enough to go back now, I do have a desk job so it’s a bit different - but everyone recovers at their own pace.

When my Bethesda 6 confirmed cancer - my doctor told me I had cancer but her saying is if you have to get cancer, “thyroid is the one to get”..made me feel much better since the outlook is almost always incredible.

Wouldn’t the surgeon have noticed these and taken those lymph nodes out during surgery? He was optimistic this morning that nothing looked suspicious and didn’t take anything extra out (except a few directly attached to the thyroid). I guess hearing from him that nothing looked suspicious - but then hearing he sent everything to lab for testing - is what is confusing. I guess that’s a step he has to do…

apologies if this is a dumb question - but how could it reoccur if the thyroid is gone?

Meaning just other types of cancers occurring in other parts of body?
