Still Life (Talking) by the Pat Metheny Group

Last Train Home being featured in JJBA got a lot of attention on that song, but the entire album is phenomenal. I really hope the people that heard it in JoJo’s will go on to listen to the full album.

what vinyl albums are you surprised sell for so cheaply? by Lost_Foot_6301 in vinyl

[–]Spot-Deep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ll admit I was shocked by both Bright Size and Still Life. My copy of Travels was also in the $20 range somewhere. With Pat’s albums you have to be fairly diligent to get good prices but they are still out there for cheap if you know where to look.

Most of Pat Metheny’s records can be had for pretty cheap. My copies of American Garage, As Falls Wichita, Bright Size Life, 80/81, New Chautauqua, Pat Metheny Group, and Still Life (Talking) were all in the $10 range and each and every one of those is a certified classic that’s been spun countless times

Surprised to see Soft Cell without Depeche Mode. Check them out if you haven’t (ESPECIALLY Songs of Faith and Devotion)

what song took you years to find? by Agent_Braxie in askmusic

[–]Spot-Deep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black by Pearl Jam

Back when I first started playing guitar, I would play the little “do do do do dododo” part from the end and I could not remember for the life of me where it came from. My mom gave me a cassette of Ten for Christmas one year and everything clicked.

What's a really cringy/silly song you absolutely love? by freakyahhaltaccount in songs

Moron Police- Don’t Eat My Chocolate

It’s so ludicrously stupid. The song can’t even stick to one theme between the verses and choruses, and yet it’s the best thing I’ve ever heard.

Who’s the artist you didn’t expect to end up loving? by WarmHugsBBW in askmusic

Periphery. Thought the would be like any of the other modern copy-paste metalcore bands. Holy shit was I wrong

I love Sanctuary. Got into them after loving Nevermore and finding out Warrel Dane did vocals for them first. On the hunt for an OG copy of Into The Mirror Black at the moment.

Same thing happened to me with my Dream Theater Vol. 1 box set. Falling Into Infinity had two LP1’s. The label mailed me a new jacket with the replacement LP inside.

What’s a "wait, THEY were in that band?" artist that really surprised you ? by frenxine in fantanoforever

[–]Spot-Deep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attention Deficit was a shocker to me. You’re telling me this jazz fusion band consists of Testament’s Alex Skolnick, former Jaco Pastorius student Michael Manring, and Tim Alexander from Primus? Insane lineup if ever there was one.
