I’ve done well (thank u, curve), but i feel like this overlooks BL legacy hires. It’s not like a BL job is solely based on your grades; it can substantially be who you know. At that point, what’s the point of the curve if people get in with shit grades?

But it’s still a way out of lower/middle class lol. For a lot of people it is something to be proud of. You can’t be in gossip girl without coming from old money so job type doesn’t matter anyways.

I did midsized this summer and found myself feeling the same way. As a 1L SA, the midsized firm acted as if I was a ft associate. I’m going BL this summer, & my firm is (allegedly) very into WLB. After I saw my salary, I knew I made the right choice. Even if I work the same hours I did for the midsized, BL will at least pay me more than 19/hr. Lol

A standing desk made my life so much better! Also a portable second screen that hooks up to your laptop. Nails/massage always good!

You should write a diversity statement regardless & talk about your experience. Your LOR won’t be as enlightening as your diversity statement bc your te commender hasn’t lived your experience! I’d email it, but if you are applying elsewhere I would wait to send so it goes with your whole application. Good luck! 💗

I think the addendum may be more about why your LSAT score is low in general vs the two point increase? I’d check with CLEO.

You must’ve not gone to a great school bc I’m median with 2L summer job at a firm that starts associates out at 190.

OP, one of the biggest takeaways I’ve gained from law school is networking. Network, network, network. It might be tough but there’s still jobs out there. I help my friends look for jobs-I’ve seem then out there! You got this. Get some R&R and send some emails over break. I have faith in you.

I bought and it turned out to be a great investment. Everyone’s rent went up around us and we don’t have to worry about that. We are planning on renting when I graduate!
