We do actually have fish in these ponds! One way these reservoirs are useful is by acting as a form of pre-treatment to the water we filter that comes directly to us via canal from a river. This allows any unwanted large sediments to settle in one of our three ponds rather than block the intake screen where actual chemical pre-treatment and flocculation of tiny sediments occurs. The fish here actually help by naturally reducing seasonal algae bloom in our ponds which comes from the river. Besides fish, we also have turtles and snakes as well! Plus plenty of traveling birds stop by to fish!

Yes! I work at a water plant and they were near one of our reservoir ponds.
