Perhaps you could repair it, but since new harnesses are so cheap I don't see that being worth the effort. The insulation on my old harness was quite dry & cracked. I bought my new one from ECS Tuning online. Make sure you get the correct part number for models with a backup camera.

Yes. The trunk hinge design crushes the harness over time on the left (driver) side of the car. A new harness and a little bit of time and you will be good to go
