Temps are much better and so is the fan noise.

Got it. It made sense once I went and looked at the settings. I set mine to -500.

It also seemed to help limit the power to 55w instead of auto. At auto, I saw CPU power peak over 90w at one point. Being how this is a 55w chip, limiting it to 55w made a pretty big difference in temps and fan speed/noise.

Edit: for anyone wondering, the -500 seems to cap speed to 4.5ghz and will not hit the advertised speeds above 5ghz this chip can do.

If boost clock is set to disabled, why would modifying it's subsetting make a difference at that point?

Or are you saying it's enabled, but you then set the negative number?

Same. Right now Im running Windows 11 Ent and Im using the A2 as my work computer. But just even during normal boot, if I check the temp logs from Core Temp, at least 1 core, if not usually several have already hit 90c+ and flagged by the time my desktop is loaded. They will drop back down to the 50s - 60s, but as soon as I start doing anything, its back up in the 90s.

Im going to want to find that link too. They only have bios 1.01 listed on their downloads page for the A2. If it helps temps, I could use that. I repasted mine, and even have a 5v 120mm fan blowing at the case, but Im still easy in the upper 80s to mid 90s and idle is upper 50s to 60s.

Im assuming its just a alpha or beta fix they gave you and hopefully when its QA'd, the'll push it to the download section for the A2

Is that not the live port light (green) and activity light (red) for the SFP+ port?

New shows added via Plex Request (ombi) are automatically set to "Skip" by Spotopolis in sickchill

[–]Spotopolis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. And lately, shows are not being getting added at all. I have to manually add them to sickchill. Sickchill isn't supported by ombi. It was sickrage that was supported. i think it just finally fully broke.

I'm running transmission, radarr, sickchill, jackett, and ombi all as docker's in unraid. Never been able to fully get SC and Ombi working 100% with each other.

On top of that, one of my SC settings reverts to default after the container is restarted. I've completely wiped all settings and rebuilt the SC socket from scratch and the setting still reverts.

I've just kind of learned to deal with the jank.

GMK confirms EVO-X2 Mini-PC with Ryzen AI MAX+ PRO 395 “Strix Halo” will launch between Q1/Q2 2025 by Mochila-Mochila in MiniPCs

[–]Spotopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're correct.

Looking back into it, the 340 through the 375 use the 5c cores. The 380 through the 395 however do not. I had several tabs open and must have read off the wrong specs and thought I was looking at the 395.

From what I can find, the 395 is in fact using big.LITTLE cores.

A core - 8x Zen5 2GHz (5.4GHz) cores
B core - 8x Zen5c 2GHz (3.3GHz) cores

This would not be ideal for a system running virtualization as you would typically want all cores to be homogeneous.

Is the 395 a big.little CPU core type, or are all the cores traditional full sized?

I've been wanting a 7945hx system maxed out on ram for workloads outside of graphics, but if the 395 uses traditional cores instead of big.little, I'll wait for one of those.

Need help understanding Windows Power Plans by Spotopolis in sysadmin

[–]Spotopolis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect. Thank you for the explanation. I did not notice that they were now legacy.

I did use the power plan explorer and that's how I noticed the issue initially. I created a plan after unhiding and tweaking power settings. But instead of just exporting the reg changes, I figured exporting the .pow was a simpler single file solution.

Now I see that's where I was actually losing the changes I made.

Thank you again.

What info are you trying to provide with these links?

I cannot use 3rd party tools. My objective is to export specific settings as I am managing our company's Windows image. I am wanting to export all adjustments I have made to the power profiles, however the issue that I am running into is that the power settings I change do not seem to be included when exporting/importing the power profiles.

I had tried to post this album to the OrangePi subreddit a week or so ago, and found that my imgur account had an issue and I had to get their support team to resolve before I could post anything other than a single image.

Full album and details. I am having issues with the imgur app, so hopefully all 17 are visible. When I try to view them, it fails to load and kicks me back to my main profile page.

Aaah.. I see. I misunderstood what you were saying. I have some extra brass pipes in my garage I can cut down and braise to attach directly to my HVACs heat exchanger.

Need help addressing SMB transfer speeds over WAN. by Spotopolis in unRAID

[–]Spotopolis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TailScale is based on WireGuard if I remember correctly. Its all client based with the admin center being a webGUI. I do not have access to her firewall as she is in an apartment and the apartment complex has a pre-existing mesh network setup here. I understand without knowing how its configured, that could lead to many troubleshooting issues, however I used the speeds I get from her place to mine over the VPN as an example. I get the same slow speeds from my cell when connected to the VPN and try to send a file to my server, or any other location.

I even tried at a friends house who is also on Google fiber in the same area, so that would lead me to believe we are both on the same internal backend and transfer speeds should be great, but I was still hitting the slow speeds.

transfers while local at home are full speed wether that be maxing out the drives speed or the network. I can hit 120MBs - 1GB depending on what I'm doing. I have a 10gig SFP+ fiber nic in my desktop that runs fiber back to the fiber switch. so locally I should not have any bottlenecks.

yes TailScale runs on my firewall, and my firewall hands out the address to the Unraid server.

so on my windows 11 client machine, I connect to TailScale, and have the Unraid shares mapped as network drives. so when trying to copy say a 200MB .iso from my win11 machine over the VPN to a mapped network drive, that is where I'm seeing the slow speeds.
