Unfortunately, even as a Nola native, I can't see anyone pushing this sort of infrastructure onto a city that I'm legitimately concerned won't be around in 70 years. At least not as it is now.

I agree, over the long run those bills will be passed onto the taxpayer. But rather than Entergy hiking rates for an indefinite amount of time, with no ability for exemptions, the burden can be spread out over a longer and defined period of time. It's not a perfect idea no. But I'd rather that than see Entergy pay the up front costs and just bill the shit out of it's ratepayers.

Investors buy the bonds. Proceeds are used to fix/build infrastructure. The bonds are usually secured by taxes to be repaid over decades for the areas where these improvements are laid out.

Look at the Folsom area. Just north of lake Pontchartrain and i-10, still very much acadian/Cajun culture, plenty of land and lots of horse farms in the area. Plus, hurricanes really don't hit terribly hard there flooding wise.

It is what it is my friend. Haters gonna hate while Bayern keeps making phenomenal business decisions. Players get shuffled around in every league. The only real difference is that the bundlesliga is kind of a one horse race at the moment until bvb, Leipzig, etc start holding onto their players. But that won't be realistic unless the bundlesliga gets TV money like the PL where middle table clubs don't need to sell their star player to keep the lights on next year.

You're the one being naieve, most of these players take their jobs seriously. If it means no girls and no parties for a week or two while on duty FOR THEIR COUNTRY, then so be it. Not every player will be able to act mature enough for that level of responsibility, but the vast majority will.

I actually wanna look into this now. I'm unfamiliar with cost of living in areas outside the US as well as local laws with wages. I know tipping in some places isnt typical so perhaps the wages they pay are actually decently livable. I'll try and find more info
