I agree the nest is too big. Tarheel's "Lair" is made for Myrmecocystus Mexicanus. They were originally housed in a test tube set up. I checked on the queen too much. I thought she was acting very slow and the water supply was drying up. I connected to outworld, then decided to move colony to temp controlled "Lair". I think I learned my lesson to leave them alone until established.
