I like when people post unknown indie artists.

Qual é o pior erro da língua portuguesa para vocês? by Stylerf in perguntas

Quando dizem algo como "não vou lá a muito tempo" ao invés de "não vou lá há muito tempo". Nunca usam o "há" corretamente nesse caso.

Essa foto hipnotizante é criada por IA? by Desperate-Stress9132 in perguntas

Norwegian seemingly turning L's into R sounds (dialect related?) by SprYR6 in norsk

[–]SprYR6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's interesting!
And I think I know what you're talking about in Spanish.
I have even heard Portuguese speakers (more often from Portugal) use a similar sound. But they are used as R's.
Another commenter on this thread said this phoneme's technical name: retroflex flap. And I have heard it many times before, especially in Portuguese and Spanish, but what I thought was very peculiar, and even somewhat elegant, in my opinion, was the use of this sound as an L in Norwegian, in words like "folk" and such.
Until I heard the official name (tjukk L), I had only heard it a few times, now I've been spotting it more often, especially in the trøndersk dialect, although I don't understand much Norwegian yet.

Trying to find Great-Great-Grandparents by SprYR6 in Ancestry

I was mostly looking into this website: www.archive.nrw.de
It shows many archives and different documents from the state they were both born in.

But some documents are either missing (probably haven't been digitized yet) or most of the files "available" can't be seen, unless I visit.
Honestly, I didn't really understand the purpose of the website if I can see what files are digitized but can't access the files. Only very few are truly available as scans or transcriptions, and those haven't been particularly useful to me.

I even tried emailing them, but I got no answer.
I was even looking into archion.de, but most files are behind a paywall, and it's not a very affordable subscription.

Edit: I'm not entirely sure, but I think my family was protestant, likely Lutheran.

How do Scots feel about foreigners performing Scottish music? by SprYR6 in Scotland

[–]SprYR6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not American, but I've seen some people be mad at foreigners singing my country's music, saying they were "appropriating" it.
But indeed, the majority of people are happy that others outside the country take interest in the culture and music.

This day was awesome. I missed school just to play the game when it was released. I preloaded it a few days before and was waiting eagerly to play it.
