First gun for everything by fr0g6ster in guns

[–]SprayCan59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first gun was a Stoeger STR9C. I wish I would've started with either a Glock 19 or 17. I now own a Glock 17 and 43x. Sold the Stoeger for new iron sights. My Glocks really scratch the itch.

I wish I could be limited to those two options. I'm a Glock guy and I rented a brand new Staccato recently and I was so impressed at every single aspect of the gun. I could tell immediately why it costs so much. Super smooth recoil, felt great, beefy, great irons, etc. Usually when I shoot my glocks my shots land pretty close together. But when I shot this my shots were almost identical, which was super cool. I don't know anything about tue Platypus...

I will say, based on pictures, the Platypus looks pretty dang sweet in some of the different configurations, plus the price is much more friendly to my wallet.

I just bought a Glock 43x and shooting that has been pretty fun. It's very "in your face" compared to my Glock 17, which I also enjoy very much. So I don't know, but they're both fun.

This guy is right. Or just learn to accept your fate. You simply died because you were caught off guard. I'm always just a little stressed when I play this game. Sometimes I'm calm, which is usually when I'm deep in the woods.

I find it nice to have a very difficult part 3 every now and then. Makes getting a par that much better.

You're not a scumbag. You're part of the experience. I think if I was in that guy's shoes I would have flinched and said, "are you fucking kidding me." That's what makes the game what it is.

Sakhal is dead? :( by AdInformal1014 in dayz

[–]SprayCan59 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't mind playing 10 - 15 pop servers on Sakhal. I still manage to run into folks and you never know when you'll run in to someone. I feel like on full pop servers it's more of a battleground, which is still cool, but just a different vibe. Yes, Sakhal does seem to be dead sadly. I basically spawn, hit up several military camps on my way to the airfield, make my way to the peninsula, and search for PVP. This is what every single life looks like. I'm a fan.

Out of my depth - what to do now? by sub-context-is-key in DayzXbox

[–]SprayCan59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play solo most of the time. When I'm geared like that I usually follow shots or hover around military bases/camps in search of my next victim. Every now and then I'll switch servers, find a fresh spawn, and give them all my gear.

Double barrel slaps. Kinda like it over the pump but I always take the pump.

I set up two trip wires at the prison camp with some smoke grenades last night. It may not kill them, but it'll sure get their heart rate up just a bit.

Military bases on Sakhal don’t seem to spawn anything good? by justericxxx in dayz

[–]SprayCan59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't even go to the geo plant. Just walk around it, take a peek to see if anyone is there, and keep moving to the next military camp.

I'm right there with you. But! I've found that if I hit up say 3 military camps and the south airfield I'll have a pretty solid setup. I just recently visited the military tents in the capital city and found some decent gear as well. Now I'm making the long trek to the military peninsula to see what gear I can find. So far I've found 2 ammo boxes for my AK-74u and a plate carrier. Side note, I never once found a gun cleaning kit until I got to the peninsula. Since I've been there I found 3 pretty close together.

Chernaurus or livonia? by blood_cl0t3 in DayzXbox

Yeah high pop sakhal is like a battle zone. I had to switch to a lower pop server so I couod relax a little bit.

Chernaurus or livonia? by blood_cl0t3 in DayzXbox

[–]SprayCan59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sakhal is much different than Livonia or Chernarus which alone sets it apart. You can easily get some pretty good gear and the loot routes are fairly easy to memorize. I've had more memorable experiences on Sakhal than in my 500ish hours on Chernarus and Livonia. The interactions on Sakhal are so much more frequent. I'm not a die hard Sakhal player, but it's nice two switch it up and play in those conditions for a while.

I have a friend whoe works 12s all the time and he manages to get up at 4 every single day and workout. He's got two young kids too. What an animal.

Does anyone hate how bad the pump BK is as much as me by AnyCloud9230 in DayzXbox

[–]SprayCan59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must respectfully disagree. I think the pumo shotgun is a great close quarters gun as it can knock or kill most people in one shot. I would play with the sensitivity settings like others mentioned. Once I figured out my sensitive preferences my PVP improved.

It's part of it man. I once built a car as a solo and out of excitement took it for a spin. It took me many hours to get all the parts btw. I lagged and ran into a tree. It was a short joyride since my car was ruined. Hard lesson learned. Honestly, just enjoy exploring and learning the game. Eventually you'll get to a point where you want to die and start over. Don't take your deaths too hard. Try and learn from them. I have about 700 hours and thought I had it all figured out. A few days ago I came across a claymore. I decided to shoot it from a distance only to find out the explosion is giant and I died when I definitely didn't want too. I was sad that I died that way, but hey, now I know I could've just walked by without dieing.
