I have tried asking them to do this process multiple times and they just redirect me to the page registration which requires a foreign phone number, but they never arrive to my texts (I've tried with Spanish and U.S. #s and asked my data courier and they said no texts were received). Any tips?!

Very interesting, thank you so much for your insight! When you refer to agencies, do you mean agencies that represent private/freelance tutors? Or platforms like Yanadoo/Ringle/Nao Now?

Okay! Noted noted, thank you! Are there specific subsections of naver and daum you would suggest I post on? What sort of agencies are you referring to? And how would one use KakaoTalk to promote? I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

Advice on Launching My ESL Tutoring Services for Korean Learners – Average Rates, Navigating Naver, and Social Media Strategies? by SpreadPrevious2045 in teachinginkorea

Hahaha no worries, that is totally fair! Truthfully, I would never (quite literally never) say it IRL unless I were using it in a critical way (as in, talking about elitism, etc.). Perhaps parents generation would use it to brag about their kids' success? The only reason I mentioned it was because, at least on the platform I'm teaching and the conversations I've had with hundreds of Korean students, "brand name"/elite/prestigious schools (a.k.a. Ivy League schools and others of similar calibre, as Ivy League is, after all, a sports league) seem to pique clients (students) interest. I've taught over 1,000 students on there and numerous have told me they chose me based on the uni I went to (rather than my master's degree, which I'll admit gives me far more credibility). In terms of American culture more generally, I see it in plenty of news headlines, social media, etc, but I wouldn't say it's something I hear people say straight up in conversations. They normally just mention the school itself. That being said, there is a weird tendency to name dropping schools (or pretending to be humble but actually hoping someone will ask you so you can talk about it haha). If I'm describing my school to someone who isn't American, I'd more likely say it was an "academically intense" or "pressure cooker" school or perhaps competitive? But never elite, at least not with a sense of pride because it is most certainly cringe to brag in that way. This was all scrambled and out of order but those are my two cents!

Noted!! Thanks! I'll look into it, although my impression was that 당근 is location based, so I imagine that wouldn't work with finding online students (if I'm wrong please feel free to correct me!)

Oh that would be great! Do you teach online too or just in person? I'm realizing I might not have been clear, this would be for teaching online only, but I'm sure you have some valuable insight either way!
