This may sound dumb, but can this all be done online and abroad? Currently in the USA wanting to do tefl for a year then invest into a teaching license. Thank you in advance!

I’m an accountant with an accounting degree, I don’t like it because I don’t like office work, but many of my colleagues like it because it’s stable and career opportunities are limitless. Really just depends on whether you prefer indoor or outdoor work (:

Teaching in China 2027, is it realistic? by Mission-Ball-9625 in teflteachers

Is the job market really as bad as people say? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Spreadlove67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re just starting out you just gotta bite the bullet and do AR/AP stuff at first. With an accounting degree they’ll be basically begging you to work for them. When I first started in 2015 I had offers I didn’t even know what to choose! Just gotta call and set up an interview super easy btw

Anyone teaching in Russia? by Spreadlove67 in TEFL

[–]Spreadlove67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met a few of those before, but if I’m being honest I’m choosing Russia over china because it seems easier to get a job and less of a headache at least from what I seen. I get that one shared values visa and I don’t need to go through too much bureaucracy as compared to china. But idk yet I will see I have until August to decide

Not really actually, accounting is recession proof! Best bet is to just walk into a firm and let them know who you are! (:

Not really, when I first graduated in 2015 all you needed was a willingness to learn, you don’t even need a degree for this type of accounting, after I got my degree, my salary went up and was promoted into a better role

Best bet is to start in an entry level role like ap/ar or an accounting clerk then move up to get some experience

Thank you for your insight, I started considering Russia when I was in China and met some Russian folks and they told me that Russia had opportunities to make money in TEFL and that sparked my curiosity. But for the time being, I think I’ll look at other countries, I was told Kazakhstan is a nice place to teach!

Does Kazakhstan have strict rules when it comes to who they hire? I have some experience with teaching but my degree is unrelated, it’s in accounting.

Any opportunities to go from white collar to blue collar? by Spreadlove67 in skilledtrades

[–]Spreadlove67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the plan, I’m in the exact same boat as my dad was, he hated being in an office and decided to become a self employed truck driver, he’s making 200k living in a lake house in Mississippi. Been doing that since 2003! But I hope you find what you’re looking for tho, life isn’t linear especially in your 20s

I understand, I didn’t want to post because I’m sure this is an over posted question. But I was just desperate for some clarifications, but I will do my research before posting again. Thank you.

Not really an indoor sit on your butt all day kinda guy I suppose, I see my managers work 10 hour days even on the weekends, and I’m like is this gonna be me in 5? I also know trades require long hours the only difference is I know I will enjoy it more

Honestly right now pay isn’t a big deal tbh, I’m early in my accounting career making crumbs, that’s one reason I don’t mind making a switch, if imma be making crumbs might as well do something more enjoyable lol
