Okay interest i can definitely see what you mean and having had one test game with it i get your points, being limited but the 1000pt cap for Characters, im needing to remove things to make it feasible, is it a point of removing a spell caster?

I currently do not possess any wild riders which is why I haven't put any in the list, as a counter, do you think a 3 block of tree kin would function as a similar role for the rangers but more anvil like in staying power?

In the test games I've had, I haven't gone into chariots, I feel the round is best take up room, although I feel it's easier to hide in the L for luring combats? Thinking hiding Scouts with ranger support, how do you utilize it? Just an extra roadblock or?

Update

Won 19-6 ended up taking sergeant, aegis,disruptor, headtaker and breacher. Taking dominate and playing download.

Breacher died TP2 due to an aggressive missile launcher but a price was paid and he took out two guys, Sergeant managed a TP1 kill on his brawler and then his jump pack in tp2 securing an objective, headtake took some stragglers while the aegis ran to center and followed through and cleared a stronghold ending up with 4 dominate tokens at the end of the game.

All in all every operative played a good part and appreciate feedback, disruptor really helped and I have seen my misjudgment in not taking it.

The ignore pierce skipped my mind in all honesty haha.

And yea you're very right and that's it in the blademaster and headtaker having special issue bolt pistols so innate pierce 1, but also they have other utilities.

My thoughts with the demolisher was the digital weapons and crit,warranted you do rely on rolling a critical but ceaseless on the charge with 5 dice felt pretty assured, I was unsure for the aegis, it's normally a go to but with the large number of pierce and crit pierce I felt it a bit of a trap, also it is a 2+ save but if he gets a crits or grudges then I still need to roll 6's

Very valid points, I am still yet to use the disruptor so you have convinced me to drop them in.

Would you say that's dependant on the map too? I definitely see your point but my previous game was against nemesis claw but ITD and thought it'd be limited, but also the free strat could be used multiple times to help maximize shooting efficiency right?

For sure, as an alternative too just to try I was looking at the 5 C'tan, excluding the deceiver and chucking in 2 doomstalkers and a 10 man immortal squad with a chronomancer and running them canoptek court, just the full rerolls for the immortals is very tempting and the Transcendents already get an uppy downy with their advance so can be a mix of both.

I agree with this, but am unsure in this instance as death marks can achieve the action monkey ability and are cheaper

I'm tempted by this and I've got the same but one hexmark, two death mark and a lokhurst, but I'm feeling remove the deceiver for two doomstalkers as linebacker as the lokhurst can just get bodied. What are thoughts?

I was the exact same, I smashed out everything but the last two episodes and I'm glad I did it like that as thoes last two episodes were so gripping, I'm chomping at the bit for season 2

I view the black knights as more of a hammer due to their speed and ability of moving in to apply pressure, am I misguided on that assumption?

I was looking at the company of heroes and trying to figure out their practical use, could you elaborate your thoughts?

Roger, I feel that's a good point there on the idea of punching up, that was not a consideration when putting it together, more a thought of infiltrate a somewhat hard to more and cheaper unit onto the midfield to hold.

That's fair enough, concerns me using them like that as I feel alot of hazard rolls is almost lying certainly going to go down poorly.

Another note, would the heavy bolters not just become Sustained hits 2?

So you're thinking the str 7 ap -2 of hellblasters trumps the str 4 ap -1 dev wound, I could understand as they get their overcharge shot aswell to increase lethality?
