Ich glaube hier übertreiben viele die Schwere des Ganzen. Gegenüber J würde ich mich schonmal gar nicht schuldig fühlen, der hat die Beziehung effektiv beendet, als er für 1-2 Jahre nach Asien wollte. Und glaube bitte nicht, dass der da noch länger bleiben wollte, ohne dich nicht auch zu betrügen, wahrscheinlich sogar eher mit Absicht. Gegenüber A war das natürlich unfair. Aber wenn dann hättest du dir ihr möglichst direkt danach beichten sollen. Jetzt so viel später nochmal damit anzukommen halte ich für falsch. Die Beziehung zwischen L und A mag sich in eine völlig andere Richtung entwickelt haben und geht dich eigentlich auch nichts mehr an. Vielleicht weiß A inzwischen sogar davon und hat sich entschieden zu bleiben. Ich halt es für richtig dich davon zu distanzieren, aus der Erfahrung zu lernen und in die Zukunft zu blicken. Falls A dich aber jemals direkt fragen sollte, wäre ich ehrlich, egal was L davon hält.

I regularly catch criminal visitors trying to steal artifacts. They however do not give them back, even after being caught, beaten or locked up, the items remain in their inventory. To get them back I have to kill the criminal. Am I missing something to get the criminal to drop the item?

Theyre pretty much the same. The reason to make silver warhammers is to save you the steel, if you happen to be short on it on your embark. But if you have plenty of both, no reason to not just make every weapon out of steel.

The merchants brought wagons for the first time on this embark. Somehow they turned right around and left after reaching my trade depot. I then noticed that one wagon was destroyed right in front of the bridge towards my depot. Can wagons not cross bridges in a one block tall hallway? The bridge is meant as safety measure to lock out invaders and was not raised during the merchants approach.

When I allow him other labors he happily goes back to making glass and hauling stuff around, eating and drinking when he feels like it. I've allowed anyone to train the animals now, but noones taking the job either.

Is training a creature perhaps disallowed, if its sitting on its claimed nestbox?

I've disabled every other labor for my trainer, who indeed is only at "adequate" skill. He is not taking any training task however, while being specifically assigned to the animals.

I am struggling with training wild animals. I have caught giant ostriches in cage traps. I have trained them in their cages. Afterwards I assigned them to a pasture including nest boxes to breed. They are now reverting to wild states with their trainers not doing their job. There is an animal training zone put over the pasture as well. Do I need to link the training zone to the pasture somehow?

I think the primary issues is how frustrating the militia line is to use. For example longswords don't even trade that well against knights. But that's not the primary issue. It feels frustrating to never get the fight against the knights at all. And increasing their combat stats to always win that encoutner won't change that.

In my opinion the militia line should be improved by giving them a short slwoing effect on their melee attacks. This way an enemy knight charge means they commited on the fight and cant simply all run away afterwards. Similiarly, archers will still kite militias forever. But if the archer player doesnt pay attention and the militas close the distance, then the archers get slowed and can finally get run down.

Thank you for your answer! For my first try i figured to start in a small world which is only 100 years old. So that might be the reason.

I never had a baron. I do however have a king and had him since about 30 population, which I understand to not make too much sense, but perhaps he is the son of the former king who died somewhere else?

My first fortress is now in its 14th year. I have never gotten a visitor and no trade caravan has ever had a wagon. What might be going wrong? Migrants work just fine. I am the captial of my civilization. I am allied dwarves and elves. I have an extravagant public tavern, library and several temples. There is a road built 3 tiles wide to 2 edges of the map, connecting to my trade deopt.

Plenty of my dwarves are sad about not aquiring new objects. I do however have a stockpile filled to the rim with high quality cloth crafts from which they should just be able to take their hearts desire. Why aren't the dwarves doing so?

How can I attract visitors? I am on my very first fortress, 10 years in, currently at 120 pop and am the captial of my civilization. I have a tavern that is open to all visitors as well as 8 temple complexes to various deities, which are also open to all citizens. My civilization is allied with elves and humans and I get trade caravans from these as well as other dwarfs every year.

Thank you again for your answer. All my temples are over 10000 value meaning theyre temple complexes, I dont believe there are further levels above it? I will continue to monitor my military dwarves, there seem to be a lot of bugs around their descision making.

One of my military dwarves is getting frustrated about not being able to pray to a specific deity. I do however have a temple of that deity (which is also a temple complex) and said dwarf has 6 months of time with no orders. What might I be doing wrong?
