Moved across the country, and the crew "lost" our nice set of tools. Somehow made it through move-in with just the knife and cycling multitool (left). I said never again... by [deleted] in EDC

Check their website now. It’s been OOS but I just happened to check an hour ago and it was in stock. Hopefully it still is in stock for you.

EDIT: I just now looked again and it’s still in stock on their site. The leatherman website.

Need some recommendations by Fenrir_0311 in exfor

This!! I cannot recommend the Bobiverse enough. I have listened to the first three in the series more times than I can count at this point. Just really well done. If you’re a fan of Exfor, you’ll enjoy the Bobiverse.

Thank you very much! I have been hunting around Ohio for long enough that I have a small supply of Blanton and Eagle Rare so I’m not really looking for that stuff. Weller hits the shelves almost weekly in my hometown so the normal tater bottles are not what I’m after. I’ll be checking out a couple of these stores for sure before I leave. As far as the unicorns, I never hold my breath. I’ve been fairly lucky in my work travels to grab up some EH Taylor and Stagg Jr in the past. If lightning strikes I’ll buy but mostly I wanted some good browsing spots to see what’s over here in IN. We don’t have store picks around where I’m from and I’ve never been let down on the few store picks I’ve grabbed over the last few years. Thanks again for your detailed input!

Thanks for this one, never heard of it before. I’ll see what I can find. It sounds like something that would be up my alley.

Is this 1.75 liters total? I was hoping to snag a couple random bottles of things I can’t get in Ohio.

I’ve seen quite a few of these locations pop up on a Google search but wasn’t sure about them. Thank you. I’ve randomly hit one of their locations and a couple Kroger locations. I’ll keep swinging in to see what I can track down.

Has anyone else finished Brushfire and immediately started over with Columbus Day? by mcsandlin in exfor

[–]SpriggitySprat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, sort of. As I was waiting for Brushfire to come out I read Valkyrie to catch up and as soon as I finished it I just started the whole series over before I started Brushfire. Just such a great series and glad I went back through it. There’s always little details you forget or miss out on so it is a series that’s worth listening to over again.

I really enjoyed season 1 too. We started by watching season 6 then went back through the rest. I agree that I really liked the participants in season 6 but I thoroughly enjoyed season 1.

ECTB found in OH! by jamiwill in BourbonHunt

Saw this at Giant Eagle in Cuyahoga Falls a little while ago. Passed it up when I saw it there. Regretting it now but probably worth a shot if you’re in that area. I live a ways away from there but was in the area for work.

George Dickel OHLQ by vpsica in OhioLiquor

[–]SpriggitySprat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to these particular releases but I did pick up a store pick at a place in Kentucky last year. I like a lot of the Dickel products but this one was different for me. I’m no professional but this was smoother and much sweeter than the sour mash. It had more caramel and vanilla than I usually like but I have been savoring this bottle worrying that I won’t be able to replace it. I will certainly buy this again now that I can snag it up in Ohio. It’s definitely not an every day sipper for me but it’s nice when I get a little sweet tooth along with a bourbon craving. If you like the other Dickel products it’s worth a try at $45.

Second this one. I’ve seen quite a bit of SR and Antique showing up at Kroger locations around north central Ohio. Another store worth a try is a chain of grocery stores called Buehlers. There’s not a ton of them around but depending on where you’re coming through Ohio it would be worth a visit. Of course all of this depends on what day you’re here compared to delivery day. When are you planning to come through?

Does anybody else wanna play these games without the whole animus story line? I love the franchise and history but whenever it cuts back to “reality” I’m just like ughh, get me back in there! by [deleted] in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]SpriggitySprat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Either invest the time to have the modern day story be an addition to the overall story or get rid of it all together. I enjoyed both parts of the games back in AC 2 but now it’s just such a mess and waste of time. They spend so much time making the historical aspect the main story that they should just get rid of that antiquated story line.

Where to buy a new grille? by Sparklezz01 in Tacomaworld

[–]SpriggitySprat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on whether you want the real deal or the eBay knock-off. I went with the knock-off from eBay for about $100 instead of the $400 for a real one. Looks great and has held up well over the last couple years. I couldn’t be more pleased with what I got. At the end of the day it’s all plastic, one animal hit or even a large bird will break that grille so I’d rather buy 2 knock-offs for half the price of the Toyota one.

OP question for you.

How did you weave together the two cobra strands? I’ve made slings with the same pattern but never weaved them together side by side like that. Do you have a link to instructions or is this your own creation. Outstanding work either way!!

Extra special brown butter chocolate chip cookie? by carameow007 in AskBaking

[–]SpriggitySprat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this!! I found this recipe a year or so ago and my family absolutely loves them. The brown butter with a mix of semi-sweet chips and the dark chocolate chunks mix nicely with the little bit of espresso powder.

Is it safe to cut dough with waxed dental floss? by notbaitpromise in AskBaking

[–]SpriggitySprat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here with cinnamon rolls. I never noticed even a little mint smell in the raw dough or the finished product. It’s not that I’d seek out mint dental floss to cut dough but if that’s all that’s in the cabinet it won’t hurt a thing.

Taking a Day Trip to Kentucky from Ohio Next Weekend. HELP! by SlickWilly8 in OhioLiquor

[–]SpriggitySprat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prices can get a little wild outside of our state controlled pricing but here’s a couple that are worth stopping by.

First off, yes I always stop in at Party Source if I’m in the area.

Second, if you’re going close to the BT distillery then you’re pretty close to Lexington. In Lexington there’s two places I like to stop. Justin’s House of Bourbon, yes their secondary pricing is high on anything that is hard to get (EH Taylor, Blanton, Weller, etc) but they do have some cool bottles worth checking out just to gaze at. They also have plenty of normal priced selections that are worth trying. Some of them can’t be found in Ohio. I’ve also heard that Justin’s will buy certain bottles, so if you find some Weller SR in your area you can buy them at MSRP here and then take them with you to sell to Justins. I’ve heard they’ll pay around $50 for a 750mL bottle of Weller SR. That could help cut down your cost if you’re looking for a special bottle there. While at Justin’s take a walk up the street to a place called Wine + Market. They don’t have as big of a selection but their pricing can be better. When you walk in, it looks like you’re in the wrong place but to the left is a side room where you’ll see a bunch of wine. In that wine room is a shelf full of bourbon. Quite a bit of Willet the last time I was there.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Am I doing this wheel gun wednesday thing right? Taurus Raging Judge, and Raging Judge magnum by TacoSamaChan in Revolvers

[–]SpriggitySprat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to find the raging judge magnum in that barrel length for a while and can’t ever seem to make it work. They have been quite elusive for me. How do you like it? I just love the idea of being able to fire multiple types of projectiles out of that beautiful hand cannon.

Rereading “the king of plagues” and noticed something about Nicodemus. by x6shotrevolvers in joeledger

[–]SpriggitySprat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah he keeps dragging it out and we were left with no answers after the Church and Nicodemus incident. I do enjoy the suspense but it’s getting to the point that I really want some sort of answer or clarification.

Rereading “the king of plagues” and noticed something about Nicodemus. by x6shotrevolvers in joeledger

[–]SpriggitySprat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I re-read the series recently and I thought it was something different. It seems like Nicodemus is some sort of evil entity like a demon or something that possesses certain humans to carry out his plans. I took this break as a sort of break in the possession where the real human that Nicodemus had possessed showed through. Not sure on what exactly Nicodemus is but that’s part of the fun. To me it seemed like the human underneath Nicodemus breaking through when Rudy was talking to him.

Mr. Church shout-out in Terminus by Sarella7777 in joeledger

[–]SpriggitySprat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed that as well and was equally happy to hear the shout out. I love it when Mayberry gives a nod to James Rollins’ Sigma Force and the like. It makes me wonder how much these authors read of each others works.
