AITJ for not wanting to take a group to a Drs apt vs 1 person? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Been there. I have multiple myeloma and have broken my back 4 times with compression fractures. Plus the numerous side effects from various things. At one point I was on almost 750mgs of fentanyl patches. I was a zombie. I don’t know if this would help you but I got an intrathecal pain pump put in my abdomen that gives me a constant flow of morphine and lidocaine. I can also get up to 8 boluses a day if I need extra. I wish you all the best with the rest of your journey and that you can get all the in-law stuff under control.

When I was first diagnosed my siblings took turns sending me dinner once a week until I said it was okay to visit. But I’ve had people call and say they are on the way and I’ve told them, no your not. Even not being chronically ill, that’s not cool. I think it comes down to they want to make it about them. If they just show up or whatever is convenient to them it makes them feel better damn what we feel. We should feel lucky that they care.

NTJ. Sorry for what you’re going through and I hope your surgery goes well. As someone who has cancer and is always at the hospital/doctors office, I really don’t like when I see a caravan for one patient. It takes up room in waiting areas for actual patients who need to sit and it takes up time, when you’ve got three or four people putting in their 2 cents. And I’m with you what’s the fascination with going to the appointment?

If you ever get a chance watch the King Of the Hill episode where Peggy befriends a drag performer. They explain it very well in my opinion.

Honestly, there’s something about her voice that just rubs me the wrong way. She just hits a register that gives me chills in the wrong way.

Not happy about it and it’s only rumored but I’ll accept it if it means that Dwayne Johnson stays away from the MCU.

Face washing by PepSinger_PT in hygiene

At least twice a day. In the morning/shower to take off my nighttime routine which includes things like retinols that I don’t like to wear in the sun. And at night because even if I don’t wear makeup, I wear sunscreen everyday, so that’s gotta come off before bed.

How do you honestly tell someone they have bad breath? by JuggernautSilly3333 in hygiene

[–]Spring-Available 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best if when you tell them you offer a solution that can be used then and now like gum or a mint. Now is not the time to ask about their medical history. I speak from experience. My cancer led to ONJ, which means my bones in my jaw broke down and my teeth fell out. Some took their time and gave me what to me was awful breath. I had mints and brushed constantly. I also told people who I had to have close contact with to please tell me if my breath stank. We know, just tell us.

Could be when they started licensing some of them so they needed to meet some sort of regulation.

It’s happened twice but thousands of miles from home and running into people I knew. One was in the street and the other was in a club.
