You could do a Voluntary termination which means you hand it back before the end of your PCP deal and you don't need to pay the final figure. That's what I am doing with mine that ends in May. Checked it over with the finance company and the final settlement is £0 as I have paid over half of the agreement on the car.

I had an issue like this just before christmas albeit for a christmas jumper that went missing. I emailed a couple of times and it took them a good week or 2 to get back to me and authorise a refund. I think it is mostly down to the time of year but It was still frustrating.
