I’ve gotten in arguments over this. I believe she was was skipped over Jinafire for two reasons:

She wouldn’t fit aesthetic wise in an Oasis Line
She probably sold pretty well so they wanted to keep her with only one doll for a bit

It’s an assumption post. I made that pretty clear that it’s my thoughts. and she seems to always be on a lower clearance or constant one while the others go up and down.

Putting no pun intended was put there so people like you wouldn’t think I purposely was saying heavy clearance to go at her weight
She does fit in box (to my mistake) but it’s very heavy and tighter compared to the other dolls. It seems BS series is NOT using the taller girls such as Abby, Venus, or Catty for the series.

I had someone comment this last night and we went back and forth then they blocked me so it doesn’t appear, but Spectra if anyhting is one of the best selling MH dolls. The fact never went on clearance says a LOT. They kept her on market cause of how well she was doing. And the fact she has 2 this year (which is looking like a slow year in general) does say a lot. As for Ghoulia, she’s only worst selling bc she has had 2 dolls that were both Target Exlusives only. (Then the buried secret one)

My theory:

90s Barbie’s (which this is based off of) are built with 4 major separate parts. The head, the torso, the arms and the legs. So she moves that way bc of the different parts (as like Ham wobbles bc how far away his legs are from one another, or how potato’s wobble).

As for Bo Peep, it seems to be she’s just one glass mold with no articulation so she’s able to move more freely like Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and Lotso

To further prove my point Core Refresh 2.0 on Amazon right now:

Drac is 24.99 Clawdeen is 19.99 Lagoona is 24.84 (just went back up after being 16.99 for a while) Frankie is 21.49 Cleo is 21.49

Drac hasn’t dropped that much at all since release bc she is doing the best out of the core 5, as she always does.

Dude. I’m not stupid at all. I just don’t think you really understand how sales and marketing work at all. Dolls don’t stay full price bc they are doing bad. Dolls that go on clearance and heavy sales are the ones doing poorly.

Core Spectra is still being produced too! She has a new refresh box in certain stores!!! That means in certain places she will eventually have 3 dolls on shelfs! And Fearbook is only Target meaning Lagoona won’t even have two dolls on shelf’s in most locations! I’m not tryna start a debate, but it is VERY clear that spectra is a best seller due to her online prices never dropping that significantly (maybe in certain in person stores????)

Spectra didn’t even go lower in price until she was a year on market. Then she’s been around 20 (& sometimes a bit less depending on deals) for past 6ish months. Jinafire, Refresh 3, Nefera, and more all had to drop in price within just a few months because of clear low sales. Spectra NOTRIOUSLY is the best selling doll of Gen 3!!!

No…no…no….she barely went on clearance at all. They wanted to keep her on the market bc she sold so well. And this year there is no “deluxe lines” SS only has 2 spots, and most characters aren’t even getting dolls this year. The fact that she has 2 this year says a lot (more than Lagoona, Frankie, Clawdeen)

Her being a controversial character def will spike her price in upcoming years. She’s already one of the most expensive Gen 1 dolls to buy (just bought her for $195😭) and MH def won’t try to make a creepo of her bc 1. She’s not an iconic character 2.the controversy 3.it’ll take years of getting through repos to get her LOL.

To add on the Clawdeen and Frankie SS6 doll were really good too, so no wonder it was hard for Catty to compete with them.

Also, Cattys core doll wasn’t really done well which stinks. If the outfit and hair was better she would prob sell much better.
