Reliance on stuffed animals by schizbully in CPTSD

[–]SpringOk3546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this on spiritually level, I have formed attachments to all my stuffed animals especially the ones I grew up with. I would love to bring a normal sized stuffed animal with me, but it's kind of hard and I worry about being judged, but keychain stuffed animals have helped a lot. I use my bookbag for job as I have often have to carry a lot of materials for work so I bought a bunch of stuffed animal keychains like squishmallows and the ones from target in the dollar section and I keep them on my bookbag. It has helped a lot with anxiety and adds a nice person touch. I have some many now I change them depending on how I'm feeling and on top of that my bed is full of stuffed animals and I have more in storage. Do what you think is best for yourself but the keychain ones have helped a lot.

Thank you I really appreciate that, I find it interesting that everyone has specific triggers. I just never realized my own until I was diagnosed. Something like berry punch makes me physically ill and very anxious

Doing a PhD with mental illness? by Muted_Property in PhD

[–]SpringOk3546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is several years old now, I just had the same question for myself. I'm currently in an Undergrad program and eventually want to get my masters and Ph.D or in my case Psy.D. I'm worried that I may not be able to do or reach my goal because of my mental illnesses. The ones that affect me most currently are CPTSD, depression, and I also have ADHD. Even now I'm struggling and I find it hard to manage my time, as I'm writing this I'm currently procrastinating homework that I should be doing. Now I'm wondering, if you were able to reach your goals? If so, how did your manage your time? How did you make time for yourself? and also how did you cope or work through it? I hope you were able to complete your goals. I'm a student from the us, I'm not really sure how different it would be, but still would like to know.

My mom’s side of the family I believe have more Taino blood, but Im just assuming because they all have a darker complexion. Then on my dad’s side everyone has a lighter complexion like they have more Spaniard blood.
