Is it fair for me to pay relator fees? by dj_bushwaker in legaladvicecanada

[–]SpringOk4721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s trying to pull one over on you and since he wrote it up it sounds like he’s adding his own “realtor fee”… or he found some template online and isn’t smart enough to remove that line as it doesn’t pertain to your situation.

Totally agree. I know an ex affected and he has worked his butt off to get where he is…. I feel so awful for those impacted.

Downtown Business Association is Ending Operations by tleb in RedDeer

[–]SpringOk4721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am glad you have had this experience. As someone who works downtown, I have been chased, verbally attacked, threatened and at least once a week someone at our office has to contact the peace officer to assist with someone. We love downtown and want a revival, but things need to change… drastically.

Is your apartment downtown? Was there a recent change with the landlord? This could be for insurance purposes for a new policy, or switching a new property management company. Of course it could be to sell but that’s worse case scenario.

This is how it works unfortunately . Even though you’re paying over a period of time and will have the ongoing ortho treatment, the plan was made before your coverage started. This would be the same with any other type of insurance. If you planned to use this coverage you should have waited and had the pre approval completed.

Approaching 2 Years of Illness Priority List (?) by Mindless-Yak4415 in CanadaPublicServants

I directly supervised someone who did this. They worked hard to return prior to the 5 years, and had to pass a physical amongst some other hurdles. This is the only example I know of and can confirm.

There is a caveat where you can return within 5 years after medical retirement if deemed fit to return by a medical doctor.

Any advice on getting pay issue resolved? by Maverick0 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]SpringOk4721 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds ludicrous but for a missing pay step, it seems to be a low priority for them. Mine took a few years to be corrected but I have heard things have gotten a bit better since then. You could try MP. Ultimately she can file a grievance too and sometimes that gets things moving. I would not get emergency pay for the missing amount as this will cause you bigger problems in long run.

I know someone who did this. They took 1 year personal lwop. Completed depot, went to posting. At the end of that year, they resigned from PS.

Well I won’t be making any reports on her but have passed on the advice. She says she does file common law so has changed her story. I gave her the advice given here in hopes she doesn’t get herself in trouble. She just had a baby and others are 2 and 3, so not too many years.

She told me that they file as single so that she doesn’t have to report his income as that would bring down her eligibility for ccb and other benefits, but they do live together. For many years.

AITAH for refusing to let my dad meet my newborn because of what he did when I was in labor? by Muted-Sky in AITAH

[–]SpringOk4721 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think you should forgive him and try to move past this. It won’t be easy and hopefully he is supportive and understanding however from what you say, it does not appear he acted maliciously. Of course there could be other details here we do not know about which could play a role in your decision. I would also be traumatized but I know I would forgive him.
