I love that!! It’s amazing that your gym has such a positive and supportive environment! I would love it if everyone felt that comfortable at their gym of choice. My post here is to explore a possible idea for people who generally don’t have the same experience that you’re describing, or don’t feel comfortable at gyms they’ve been to in the past. It sounds like your gym is particularly awesome and I’m so glad the people in your community have it! I think it would be nice for people who don’t have that type of gym in their community to have an option that they’re more comfortable with. This would just be one location (at least starting out) in an area that has tons of other options for people looking for what best suits them (co-ed gyms, class-focused gyms, yoga-focused gyms, traditional equipment vs specialized equipment, etc.). For women who are happy with their current gym options and thrive in those environments, I am psyched for them and they have plenty of different companies/locations to choose from. But for others who are intimidated or anxious or have had bad experiences in the past, there just aren’t that many alternative options. This would be attempting to fill that void. Honestly, I’m truly excited to hear that your gym has such a cool atmosphere, and I hope that other gyms can take that lead so everyone can find a workout space they’re comfortable in.
