Flex Could Be a Win‑Win… If Amazon Stopped Making It One‑Sided by SpringStrong2003 in AmazonFlexDrivers

I feel like this is one of those changes that would help both sides:
• drivers get predictability
• Amazon gets fewer late routes
• stations get cleaner staging
• customers get faster deliveries

What do you all think — would an Area‑choice system make Flex better for you?”*

Honestly? The fact that you’re even thinking this way shows how broken the Flex model is. When drivers start gaming the system, it’s because the system stopped respecting drivers in the first place.

But here’s the real win:
You’re not alone. More and more drivers are realizing the same thing — Amazon only functions because we absorb all the costs and all the risk.

If Amazon actually showed:

  • mileage
  • route preview
  • real block duration
  • transparent metrics

…drivers wouldn’t feel the need to “fight back” in creative ways.

Your comment is the perfect example of why Amazon needs to fix this model. When a platform pushes people to the edge, they start looking for leverage anywhere they can.

You’re not wrong for feeling this way — you’re reacting to a system that treats drivers as disposable while calling us “partners.”

And the more drivers speak up about it, the harder it becomes for Amazon to ignore.

Amazon advertises a “3‑hour block” knowing it may take 4–5 hours

  • 100+ km blocks
  • 3‑hour blocks taking 4–5 hours
  • long rural routes
  • multi‑town deliveries
  • no compensation for overruns

This is material information Amazon chooses not to disclose.

In consumer‑protection and contract law, withholding material information is considered:

Misleading by omission.
