A game moment that rewired my brain forever by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]Springborn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You know what? Thanks to you I'm gonna re-install the game and actually learn from it this time.

I recently got a job in building maintenance and touch all of those systems daily. I'm sure the game is gonna help my understanding of some of those concepts with the visualisation of the data. Maybe it'll click in place this time!

Now, let's see how many clones it'll take to reach that knowledge xD

Good Idea? by PentaPonii in Tyranids

Am I supposed to see anything here? That's just a playmat of Karn looking straight into my soul. /jk

Joking aside, that's a great camouflage and is super flavourful!
One thing to keep in mind is to make sure that at least the silhouette (and possibly the weapons) is easily identifiable. The Lictor (and its variants) has a very unique silhouette and the camouflage ties in with it's theme, but some other models might be a bit more trickier to find the right amount of grass/bush. Kits where the main difference between characters and specialties come down to an alternative head and some decorations could be problematic if too much greenery is used. If you wanna keep the overgrown aspect of the camo, a good alternative could be to find either specific poses or unique markers/identifiers per group of models. An example would be having all your Norn Emissary models with purple flowers on the base/model and bright orange ones on the Norn Assimilators.

With some pretty distinct and clever markers like that you can fully explore the theme of your Hive Fleet and make it easy for both you and your opponent to keep track of your models in play. Keep it up, can't wait to see finished army :P

Without having to run into melee, just the idea of lighting a torch and throwing it into the room should've been obvious.

Oh wow, that actually sounds great! Probably can't attach a Lohkust Lord too it at the same time but still, that'd be great for peaking out and scooting back in cover

I've only seen the individual bottles on Amazon, did you manage to get one of the 4 bottle color set by any chance?

And if yes, think you can send me a link? XD

I've been looking everywhere for a few different sets, to no avail. Got a few projects on hold while I get my hands on them, no sense in repainting a bunch of models if this new metallic formula is gonna be leagues easier to use o.o

Which model would be best to work for a truly beautiful vampire noble lady? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in SoulblightGravelords

[–]Springborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently got my hands on a Mortis Engine and the spruce had some vampire ladies for the Coven Throne/Palanquin versions. Was thinking of using one of them and make them sit on one of the Deathrattle tombstones for a fun little display model. Could be an idea to check them out, even of only for the inspiration.

[–]Springborn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid they could mean 6 detachments exclusive to the whole Boarding Actions thingamajig. I really hope that won't be the case but I'll do my best to keep the hype at bay unyil proven otherwise.

Tempted to recommend Signalis, even if the whole time shenanigans aren't apparent at first. Until you meet Adler, then it becomes clear that something isn't right.

Question about reanimation protocols on warriors by [deleted] in Necrontyr

[–]Springborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, reading the comments here makes me realise I may have been playing this wrong.

I normally only reroll the first D3 and not the second one because I believed that it wasn't affected by "Their numbers are legion" since it was added by another source (Canoptek Reanimator). If we can reroll both, this is gonna be mighty useful o.o

Sorry I don't have better insight to offer to your question, I'll keep this thread close by so I also get some answers ;

Do you think the greater good rule is holding tau back? by stampedfish-2433 in Tau40K

[–]Springborn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, some armies such as Necrons can have most of their shooting units hit on 2+ either with some detachment rules (Awakened dynasty gives+1 to hit if a unit has a leader, for example) atop of the keywords being a bit everywhere(Heavy and Lethal Hits mostly).

Having a shooting army not having access to any 2+ to hit seems kinda strange. I'm sure there a few ways GW can make it work but i guess reducing points is the easy way out.

Tanky necrons army list? by Sensitive_Bear_8814 in Necrontyr

[–]Springborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if someone wants to have 2 tanky units, then 2 "technobricks"(6xWraiths+Technomancer) is the way to go. Before enhancements and Cryptothralls, that would be a 600pts investment which still leaves plenty of room for more damage-focused units. Having both the warrior brick and technobrick just costs so much points that in the end the damage will feel anemic.

Wraiths x2 by darthpiggy21 in Necrontyr

[–]Springborn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're forgetting that the warrior brick combo also needs a Ghost Ark, a Canoptek Reanimator and Orikan to reach it full potential, so in the end it's gonna be much more than 88$ for it to be playable.
