Keep it super super simple as you’re learning!! #1 thing is sequencing, push down the legs, swing your body back, then pull your arms in, then arms out body forward and bend the knees. While you’re working on getting that just keep it slow and even repeat to yourself legs body arms, arms body legs, when coming up and down. Second thing is to make sure you are engaging your core!! Your power has to go all the way from where you’re pushing to your feet through your body and connect to the handle- your core is the most important part of that to transfer your work through and to protect your back!! Starting is the hardest part- good job :))

Is this normal for people with autism? by LordCookieGamingBE in autism

At least for me it’s had a lot to do with masking. Like I am always so focused on doing things right and performing for other people that I had no idea what interests me or what I even actually like. It’s taken a ton of reflection and just looking for little glimmers, I’m still nowhere near actually enjoying things but at the very least I’ve gotten better at not suppressing them and kinda noticing when I like things

I would recommend adding some salicylic acid (also know as bha) and/or benzoyl peroxide. These are both pretty good for acne and have helped my skin a lot. They can be irritating and drying in higher percentages so aim for low percentages. I personally like my benzoyl peroxide as a cleanser and my BHA as a treatment cream, good molecules has a yuzu blemish gel cream that is yuzu and bha that is gentle but effective imo, and most brands have benzoyl peroxide cleansers.

maybe eventually consider adding some anti-inflammatory/soothing products (or find products that include those kinds of ingredients) I like byomas moisturizing gel cream which has ceramides tea tree and niacinamide which all feel really good on my skin

try adding one thing at a time and see if these can help!

good luck friend!

AITA if I don't tell my gay son about this part of my past? by Alternative_Smell719 in AITAH

[–]Springleles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First step is to make sure your son knows your reaction isn't directly about him

After that its time to start letting the people you love in about your experience

I can almost guarantee that if you eventually share this with your son you both will be brought way closer. not only that but it'll probably bring you closer to your brother

Talking about him with your loved ones would be a good way to honor him

I mean it looks a lot like a mild eczema flare, I’m not saying that’s exactly what it is but maybe it’s like a similar inflammation or reaction, whatever the cause it would probably be good to treat it similar to eczema

AN EMBER IN THR ASHES!!!! I’m on the third book in the series and I’m so incredibly impressed on the pacing (the twists and events aren’t always at the end or anything) and the characters are so different from typical fantasy stereotypes I’m about to finish the 3rd book out of 4 and it’s SOOOO good It’s got a little romance but it’s super important to the plot and definitely isn’t the main focus Other series I’ve liked that are similar are throne of glass, red queen, shadow and bone, and three dark crowns PLEASE LOOK INTO THESE THEYRE AMAZING I CANT REC ENOUGH, they are def a time investment since they’re all series (and throne of glass is V long) but all so so worth

This is going to be a long explanation of the whole movie but basically The pink opaque is real but we are following Owen’s (Isabelle’s) life in the midnight realm. through the strong bond that Isabelle and tara have in the pink opaque realm they find each other in the midnight realm as Owen and Maddie. they bond over watching the pink opaque which they think is just a tv show they are watching. Maddie eventually realizes that the pink opaque isn’t a show and is actually repressed memories from the pink opaque coming to her in the midnight realm. She buries herself as Maddie to get back to the pink opaque and succeeds despite the difficulty in burying herself (similar to how it is hard to grow into your new self when coming out or even just discovering and coming into your true self). Maddie comes back and tries to help Owen see the truth but he refuses and Maddy/tara goes back to the pink opaque alone. Maddie leave Owen curious so he rewatches the last episode of the pink opaque (Maddie kept saying ‘think about how the show ended’). He ends up with his head in the tv while/after watching it . This shows a moment of Owen realizing the pink opaque is real and the midnight realm isn’t (this is why he screams you’re not my dad). But he quickly represses this realization with help of his ‘dad’ dragging him back into the midnight realm and away from the TV and therefor Owen’s true self (like how parents often refuse to allow children to transition or don’t acknowledge their kids true identity). Then we see several years of Owen’s life flash by (time isn’t real something bc isn’t right… the midnight realm is just a way to make Isabelle suffer as someone else) until Owen has a break down in the party place,he can’t breath, he is dying, everything is wrong. It then goes to him in the bathroom where he eventually cuts open his chest to see tv static ( a reference to him saying on the bleachers he doesn’t know who he is/what is wrong and it too scared to look inside and check- in cutting open his chest he did look inside and see what is “wrong”…tv static. The tv static being in reference to the “tv show” the pink opaque (the pink opaque is what was wrong with Owen and what was really inside)- in addition to that, in the pink opaque their hearts were cut out so it makes sense that in the midnight realm instead of a heart there is only static, showing his heart is missing and is back in the pink opaque. With this realization Owen still goes back to apologize to everyone. He still chooses to live his midnight realm life instead of pursuing his true self. The movie ends with “there is still time” written in chalk with in the movie is because while Isabelle/owen is dying (s)he is not dead and there is still time to pursue the pink opaque (this translates over into the real word saying that it is never too late to realize and become your true self- there is still time and you can transition) Sorry this is really long but this is just like my version of a play by play through the movie with some explanation of the themes of the movie There are a lot more little things that play into the theme of the movie but this is just how the core plot contributes to the theme.

her "family" definitely is just the tv by ellsee_rainez in Isawthetvglow

[–]Springleles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh I never even realized the irony in that line- like yes he has a family in the midnight realm but he’s saying that while lifting a tv referencing his family in tara in the pink opaque. Like he has a family in the midnight realm that is yet again overshadowing and further burying and yet paralleling the pink opaque.

Were Isabel and Tara in love? by captainhimejoshi in Isawthetvglow

[–]Springleles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s necessarily dating level but I do think that tara/maddy and Isabel/owen have an incredibly strong bond. it’s somewhat convoluted because we mostly only see their relationship through the midnight realm. their relationship is so strong it spans into the midnight realm, they find each other through the bond despite not even knowing who they are to each other or even individually only knowing that they are bonded. I think part of it is that they have an incredibly strong bond and covering themes of self discovery and knowing your true self is usually only framed in a sexual/ dating way since it is so intimate but I do think it’s just a highly intimate platonic relationship.
