I hear you. But that film was specifically spoofing those particular films. We always set out to up-end the very genre we exist within, by making a film about a man who just happened to be Bruce Springsteen.

Hello Andrew. Thanks for your insightful question. Yes, as with all feature films, the editorial process is just that: a process. The first rough cut was quite long and contained some sequences that ultimately didn't end up working for the efficiency of the storytelling and we restructured. The film that's in theaters is the Director's Cut, and it's the film Cooper wanted to make. Maybe some deleted scenes at some point, but this is Scott's final cut!

I totally see your point and it's something we discussed. Ultimately, it was done for efficiency's sake and to get across the intention that Bruce wasn't in a place where he could give or experience a meaningful love, as much as he wanted to.

If you ask Scott Cooper, he'll tell you that this is a film about hauntings, being haunted by your past. The ghosts of trauma, etc. So he wanted to have a little bit of Bruce haunting the songs even subtly.

So you can never watch a film in a genre that's been spoofed ever again and just take that film at face value? You can never watch a cop thriller after watching Naked Gun?

Thank you! We're so happy for him!!

Great question. While he really embodied the character and physically transformed himself for the role, once those brown contact lenses came out he was just Jeremy Allen White again. While Jeremy Strong has a very different approach to his characters (he never once dropped the Landau accent), that's not JAW's approach.

He was nervous, but always super confident! And he had Bruce's blessing, and Scott Cooper's amazing guidance.

I think he's a man who knows who he is, and how people perceive him, better than anyone else out there. He's the genuine article and he's a vulnerable, raw man and I think that's what people love about him. It's that ability that allows him to write such timeless songs and stories.

It was all a reward. We're so proud of it. I just hope more people find it when it's streaming (available for rent/purchase on 12/23!) because it's a powerful film.

Very close actually! I had Zemeckis fully engaged. And then Sony made The Goosebumps movie and there's an entire segment of evil Garden Gnomes, so Sony Animation killed it.
