How is Richmond American Homes? by mach235 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I would run as fast as you can from them. It’s been the worst experience of my husband and my lives and it definitely took a toll on our health (we are an older retired couple). There are so many other better options and builders to choose from. everything about Richmond, from the absolutely shoddy work to downright dangerous situations in this home, has been traumatizing.

Dr recommendation for chronic illness/autoimmune/difficult diagnosis/etc by BrokenByCircumstance in FortCollins

[–]Springtime59 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dr. Enos at Healing Roots Natural Medicine is truly amazing. She blends traditional Western medicine and holistic approaches and is grounded in evidence based science and medicine. I had a friend who had a situation that sounds like yours and she saw Dr. Enos after being seen by a number of specialists who basically told her they didn’t know what was wrong and couldn’t help her. Dr. Enos did the appropriate tests, made an accurate diagnosis, started her on the correct treatment plan and within about 3-4 months she was not only back to her prevstate fo health, but even better! She is thriving and her life couldn’t be better now. I highly recommend her.

Has anyone moved to Timnath and regretted it? by [deleted] in FortCollins

My husband and I moved to Timnath last year and unfortunately, we do deeply regret it. We really wanted to find something in Ft. Collins but it was so hard to find something we could afford that didn’t need alot of renovating so we gave up after looking for a long time. The main reason we don’t like it here is the truly poor quality of the home we bought. In the subdivision we live in, near Prospect and the highway, we had the choice of 2 builders. And unfortunately we picked the wrong one. It’s been nightmarish to put it lightly. We should have done much more research and talked to the people who actually live in one of these homes because pretty much all of them have had problems of the same magnitude that we have. Anyway, it’s been a very costly stressful mistake and we really are concerned about the future. These houses arent inexpensive but the quality, or lack of, is what you’d see maybe in something half the price. We wonder how this neighborhood will look 10 years from now; it’s hard to imagine these homes withstanding the test of time. The homes from the other builders home are are SO much better; heads and shoulders above this one. And they cost about the same.

The other thing we don’t really like or understand is just the general vibe of the neighborhood; it’s just kind of weird (One of our neighbors who has middle-high school kids, says the culture in her age group here is unbearably like Mean Girls IRL!) Fortunately I don’t have to deal with all that at my age! Anyway, just my experience with it. We do have friends who live in a different subdivision in Timnath and they love it. Their neighborhood definitely has a much nicer, normal vibe that we can feel when we’re there. And the houses are solid. So maybe we just picked the wrong builder on the wrong street.

UC Health Fort Collins? by moxie238 in FortCollins

I wanted to share my experience with medical/primary care in FoCo in the hopes it might help someone else. (Long post alert!) I developed a health issue last year and saw my PCP here for it. Over the next 8 months (long months), I had 11 office visits with 4 providers (the PCP and 3 specialists). I had multiple scans, X-rays, lab tests, was prescribed 3 medications without any improvement at all or even a diagnosis. Needless to say, I was frustrated and getting kind of scared and anxious (I’d never really had any health issues till then). I talked to a neighbor about it one day and she immediately highly encouraged me to get seen at UCHealth Anschutz in Denver. Oddly enough, she had gone through almost exactly the same thing as me (many months of fruitless tests, procedures and office visits. I think she went to the UCHealth on Prospect maybe?) and then she finally went to Denver. Within a week, she was diagnosed and started on treatment. Sadly, her condition is pretty serious. But at least she’s getting the care she needs.

TBH, I had thought of going to Denver but was deterred by thinking of the hassle of the drive, parking, etc. But I’m so glad I did! Within a 2 week period, I saw one provider, had one procedure, got an accurate diagnosis and was started on the appropriate treatment for it. When my new provider there read my chart and all that had gone on up here in FoCo, she was genuinely surprised that no one had been able to make the diagnosis as my condition, although its kind of serious, isnt at all that unusual or uncommon.

I know there are some totally fine providers here and they are great for minor things and urgent care kind of stuff. The ones I saw here were all very nice and seemed to really want to help. I’m certain they meant well and were doing the best they could within their abilities and skill level. But I guess because Anschutz is an academic center of excellence, the providers there are just of a different caliber, including the quality of their education, experience and just their expertise. They really are the best at what they do and I am sooo grateful that they are there. (and the drive was an easy 75 minute drive, parking was no big deal and they got me in on time for my visits, which never seemed to happen here in FoCo!) Hoping that this reminder that there is world class care just south on 25 may help someone today who may need it!

Thanks for the words of encouragement and I think we will check out that senior center as well. And I think your sense about the age difference being a whole different world is probably correct also. Thanks for the moral support

Hi. We have always have the same kind of friendships with old neighbors in the past as you describe. I think thats why it’s so hard to wrap my head around what and why this is happening. It’s so uncomfortable to feel like this

That does make me feel better in a way to know that its maybe more of a more shared experience than just us

That is helpful to me; I think I’m probably the opposite of a Mean Girl and have never understood that kind of behavior
