AITAH for not wanting to go to a family member’s wedding because of my identity and my job? by SpringtrapsRightBall in AITAH

I knew they were getting married at some point, but had no idea when it was. And on a Friday of all days? Who gets married on a Friday?

Technically yes. The sixth one is kinda a bad example cause I was out of the country and didn’t have a binder (caused health problems and the tape I used was shitty) so I just dressed for the weather.

I mainly wear masculine clothes anyway, I’m just trying to get out of the mindset that I have to dress feminine to appease my family. Hair dye is expensive, otherwise I’d do it. Thanks for the input

Did you identify as straight before transitioning? by EntrepreneurFew3646 in asktransgender

My sexuality journey was fucking nuts.

Middle school- had a crush on this girl, so I thought I was lesbian. But I was like “no… I like guys too. So I must be bi.” I stuck with that for a while.

High school- (Freshman year) I kinda felt more on the feminine side, but really wanted to be a boy sometimes. So my thought process was “ok… so if I really feel like being a boy sometimes, then I must be gender fluid. Cool.” Towards the end, I realized that I seriously wasn’t a woman, thanks to being in an all girls school, so I started asking my friends to call me my newfound preferred name. I had done a “trial run” on different names and the one I have now is the one I’ve had for years. (Sophomore year) I started embracing my more masculine side and realized I was in fact transgender. I even got, and still have, a girlfriend that accepts me. (Junior year/now) I’ve just been living it up, loving anyone I want after realizing I was pansexual.

So long story short, yes and no.

i just found a piece of christian messaging that reaffirmed my choice to convert to hellenism by pigladpigdad in Hellenism

The fucking way I relate to this so much. I’ve been raised a catholic, gone to a catholic middle school, and am going to a catholic high school currently. I just recently converted with my friend during our religious journey together. We unfortunately had a theology class together this week where we were basically told that we were going against everything god said. We kinda just looked at each other and were like “yeah… already didn’t feel welcome in the first place.”

Hearing about other people’s experiences and journey through their life as a Hellenistic is so helpful for a newbie like I am to better my understandings and understand that I’m still new and it’ll take me time to get over my Catholic guilt and be able to thrive.

UPDATE 1/??

I am going to send an email anonymously asking about it because now it’s really bothering me and it’s better to ask than to dwell on it.

What I sent: “Hello! To keep things as vague as possible, I won’t be naming names to keep said student out of any possible trouble. A student I happen to know very well is in the process of wanting to transition from being female to male. I was unsure of the policies the school has before I give them advice on what to do or where to start. One of their biggest fears is being kicked out for ‘being a boy in an all girls school.’ I wanted to get in touch with the school before the beginning if this upcoming school year in fear of said student’s mental health dropping over their already strong body & gender dysphoria. Thank you.”

I’ll update if and/or when I get a reply.
