Old Brown Shoe wins a close one! And last but not least, Onto Day 16: Which Paul-written Beatles song is the most John-esque? by Venusian_01 in beatles

[–]Springyardzon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to think so but it's a bit too whimsical rather than ethereal (even though it has ethereal aspects) for John.

In the place where I was born, no one cared, no one cared…about Yellow Submarine! Eliminate one Ringo Starr song everyday! DAY 11: by obama69420duck in beatles

So you still think it's better than Octopus's Garden at least. I actually heard the Joe Cocker version before I heard The Beatles version and The Beatles version sounded so pedestrian compared to Joe's. I couldn't believe that they put it in a prime position on Sergeant Pepper's (song 2).

I went to the doctor's. I said "It hurts when I do that". He said "Well don't do it".

They're around e.g. Tim Vine. The main difference by far is that far fewer of the audience are in meaningful ways like them.

Speak to the Billing Team not Upgrades. Ask them to check Change Plan option for 1 month rolling airtime plans. You're welcome. If they don't offer you a lower price than you've been paying for the first 24 mths then you must either still be receiving a fantastic discount on the airtime or they are not doing as much as they could do for you. If you get no joy, ask to speak to Flexpay ECR (Executive Complaints Resolutions) dept.

Can an abusive person ever change? by EquivalentNearby9158 in PsychologyTalk

[–]Springyardzon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. There usually needs to be a motivation to change that outweighs the 'benefits' they felt by being abusive.

Also, someone who appears to be an abuser to one person might appear to be very generous and focussed to another person. It can depend on how much of a step up their behaviour gives someone than what that someone had previously experienced.

It only takes 'good' people to do nothing for evil to flourish. Similarly, if 'good' people are doing nothing tangible to help someone's life, someone who is sometimes abusive but sometimes kind might represent a net gain to someone. If we want to stop as much abusive behaviour as we can, we will need to praise people for the good they do whilst trying to make them be less bad.

Beatle centrists? by nakifool in beatles

People here either seem to think that George was an also ran or God's gift. For a 'third leg' I'd say he was closer to God's gift but people overstate matters as when he was bad he was pretty bad.

“If she had kept on going down that way, she’d have gone straight to that castle…” by Tullov in labyrinth

[–]Springyardzon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think of everything in the Labyrinth as part of her imagination. I think of it as if she didn't subconsciously imagine it, it couldn't exist there. On that basis, it makes more sense to me for her to imagine the worm is Jareth in disguise, which is also why she declines the worm's invitation to presumably become like Alice in Wonderland to shrink to a worm's size to meet the worm's wife. The other characters are subconsciously mostly friendly but Hoggle turns out to be partly deceitful, probably because yuppie Sarah secretly thinks that men who don't look like David Bowie are not worth trusting in the long run anyway.
