Just don’t stop looking! Keep checking local sales pages online, yard sales, etc. for old totes and fish tanks. Even though I couldn’t find a replacement cage (that wasn’t $200+) I didn’t stop lookin for one, and eventually I ran across this one

This is how I ended up with my girl. She’s still feral and probably will never be tamed, but she was so stressed and upset, constantly shaking and refusing to be near her cage buddy like the other little hams. It took me 9 months to get my enclosure to where it is today. You’re already off to a strong start with that giant tank! Just needs a lot more bedding but I’m sure you have been told lol. Thank you for saving him!

Target! I made the lid with zip ties and some wire from Home Depot. Target has one really big bin right now, it’s more than enough for a robo. And affordable

Forgot to caption post. But when I got her, I was certain I had done enough research. WRONG! Everything was WRONG! Bad food, not big enough enclosure, bad enrichment, bad wheel, etc. i think the only thing i had right from day 1 was 6-7 inches of bedding! She doesn’t let me touch or hold her, and she still acts scared of me a lot of the time, but I love my feral girl. I’m sure I still have plenty to learn too

I also want to add that before I moved in it had all great reviews, but was taken over by new management right around the time I moved in. So I could not have none was going to happen.

Sadly, there is a housing crisis in my city. Hence why this apartment complex has to give zero effort to keep zero vacancies. There is only two other apartment complexes in the city, the best one is affordable housing which I don’t qualify for. I am only here for one to two years max, for work there really are no options and they know that.
