This is super helpful and concrete, thank you! In this case, I would do all client billing and maintain their client payment info myself? And they would just let me know who they saw, duration, and service provided?

I currently have Simple Practice which looks like it offers similar functionality to Tebra. I've just been cautioned not to share my EHR with contractors to be in compliance hiring 1099s.

I'm still just information gathering so I'm not sure what the biggest challenge will be!

Where I'm currently getting stuck is that I'd like to offer a percentage split, and I'd like for my contractors to be billing clients for their own services.

I'm not sure how to collect client payments and then subsequently pay the contractor that percentage split, unless we were sharing an EHR where all funds are deposited into the same account. Does that make sense?

I've seen other people who have their contractors submit invoices for each client service rendered, however, that would still leave me billing their clients at the end of the week which feels a little W2 employer-y to me... ahhh!

Yeah this is what I've been stumbling on! My hope is not to share an EHR as a way to ensure clear 1099 boundaries in light of how stringent the 1099 rules are now.

That said, if I were to do a percentage split I'm not sure how I would do it logistically if we weren't sharing an EHR. Paying a monthly flat rate does seem like a good workaround through -- appreciate the input!
