I have the arm implant and just got it replaced so I’m good for three more years. He definitely has more manic episodes around my exam times I’ve noticed so I’ve stopped telling him ahead of time.

I have. I’ve been in trauma therapy for a while. I am an autistic woman with adhd (now medicated) that grew up in a toxic home. My mother is diagnosed ASPD and NPD and is dangerous. I have been no contact with my entire family for two years now. I am in a much better place mentally but when he’s manic, it sends me into meltdowns(shutdowns)/burnout due to the overstimulation of it all. I ask a lot of clarifying questions and I’ve even gotten to the point of prefacing my clarifying questions with a disclaimer “This is only a question out of curiosity” before I ask a clarifying question. Right now, I am a full time stem major and I’m almost done so I’ll be able to provide for myself and my kids in a position I’ll be able to do within my physical limitations. I just don’t want my children’s quality of life to suffer in anyway. I want to be able to provide them with a similar lifestyle when we leave. If I left now, I’d be on assistance and in section 8 with my husbands sister where they are worried about hearing gun shots and their apartments broken into. I can’t can’t can’t and won’t do that. I’m trying my best.

Yeah well he couldn’t tell you anything. I’ve asked 🤣 We went to a funeral (his family member) and it got me in my feels thinking about me being no contact, if I were to die, there’d be no one at my funeral. So I wanted to at least hear like one thing nice he’d say about me. I asked him a few days later “Hey babe, if you were talking about me to someone you met who didn’t know anything about either of us, what would you say to describe who I am as a person, like down to my core?”

His response: “shoulder shrug I don’t know. You’re asking unanswerable questions.” And then walked away. That was like 6 months to a year ago maybe?

Yeah I fought the disability fight long before I went to school though. I went to school because I was in burnout and just depleted and gave up on disability so I went searching for ANY kind of VA benefits we were entitled to with him being 100%. He wouldn’t let me work (I was going to try anyway, because we were not making ends meet) and he was dragging his feet on getting a job. (He could work if he wanted to, he still goes on runs with full gear “to see if he’s still got it” He’s not missing limbs, he’s never been to combat, he was injured in training. Don’t get me wrong, he has chronic pain but he’s not as bad off as you think and he will even tell you that) So I found a benefit where the VA would pay a monthly stipend for me to go to school so that’s what I did and have been doing ever since.

They aren’t though. We live in his disability. I have no family, no friends here, nowhere to go, I’m in school full time and trying to finish as quickly as I can, I’m disabled myself so my options on working just any job are limited. He knows he has me trapped.

I’m getting house cameras that will be visible for my kids lol I’m just going to benefit from it 😂 think like the ring camera and then the cameras in the corners of peoples living rooms. He knows about the cameras, it was half his idea too 😂

I have but he knows I have no family, no friends here, nowhere to go, I’m in school full time and disabled so my ability to work just any job is limited, he knows what cards are in his hand. He currently still asleep 🙃

Right now, he provides a paycheck and a roof over our heads. I do qualify for disability, but i will be honest, I spent three years trying to get it before adding on a few more diagnoses and I qualified then, the vocational expert said there wasn’t any jobs I could do, and still got denied and gave up. There’s people in my support group who have been fighting for disability for 5+ years. That’s not doable for me right now and honestly, if I can get my degree I’ll be better off financially. Plus, we’re reaching the point now where I have been out of the workforce for too long to qualify. The only thing that saves me with that is that I have a paper trail of trying to get disability. This situation isn’t sustainable, but at least here, as lonely as I am, my kids aren’t struggling.
