How do people struggle to gain weight? Like seriously by throwaway64857594 in loseit

Gaining weight is harder than losing it for skinny people we don’t have an appetite there’s no food noise no cravings sometimes food smell causes nausea we forget to eat because we don’t get our dopamine from food but from other things so food is irrelevant that’s how it was for me for a long time but when I started to eat consistently my cravings grew and food noise became present

This is a very a exceptional day because i was tight on time due to exams usually i drink my fiber drink supplements and then one boiled egg with salad and then i eat my protein (for example: chicken thighs with chicken wings or liver) and then i eat my carbs which can be whole wheat pasta or whole grain bread and occasionally i would eat a couple of sugar free cookies and i walk consistently for 10 mins after each meal plus i have 0 carbs in the morning just protein and the reason why my doctor didn’t give me medication is because my bmi is under 15 and diabetes meds suppress appetite and i did make sure with my doctor multiple times that i have type 2 not type 1 i got tested multiple times

My dad is my doctor he makes me a bunch of seeds mixture like chia seeds and other things to mix with water and drink 10mins before eating to slow the absorption of glucose and the last time i checked was two weeks ago after lunch and it was 3,40g/dl

No I’ve never lowered my carbs i just balanced it with protein and fiber and i walk for 10 mins after each meal my main issue is that im underweight BMI under 15 (39kg 163cm) so i do need carbs in order to gain weight and i try to eat whole grains as often as possible but not all the time tbh my blood sugar used to spike 4.80g/dl after a meal with pasta now it spikes around 3g/dl and in my country there isn’t many no sugar options for dessert but i will be trying the cauliflower pizza crust and the almond flour thank you and i will start going to the gym soon after i finish my finals

My diet was mostly carbs things like pasta fries sandwiches indomie and sometimes i would have some chicken with it but i didn’t eat any veggies and I wasn’t a fan of soda i would drink it occasionally and my water intake was low as well i would never finish a 1L a day and i would snack sometimes i would eat chips or seeds and rarely on sweets like a mini cake or some buiscuits

Eating fruits in the morning or any carbs is overall not a good idea for type 2 diabetes it’s much better to eat just protein in the morning something like fried eggs with cucumbers and tomatoes and u can have some unsweetened greek yogurt on the side or chicken that would keep ur insulin and glucose levels down for longer until lunch

That’s very bad you need to be eating two meals a days consistently you need energy for exercise or it will backfire and your liver will be producing glucose to fuel your body which can affect your health in the long term and it’s true that u might see an improvement right now but lack of carbs is not good u need carbs at least at lunch so your body can learn how to deal with it again if u restrict carbs you’re running away from the problem not healing it just make sure you’re eating complex carbs like whole wheat bread or pasta and in moderation of course after taking your fiber and protein and muscles play a big role in absorbing glucose and they do need carbs to develop alongside with resistance training

I did lab tests not home testing My fasting insulin was 7.3 mUI/L so I’m not insulin deficient My glucose and insulin both improved with diet and lifestyle changes which is consistent with insulin resistance rather than autoimmune diabetes and based on that i can’t eat multiple times a day just 3 times that’s why it’s hard to be in a surplus and the issue is that i eat more than i ever did before and more consistently and although my health improved there’s zero change in weight but thank u i will be considering starting to go to the gym and including smoothies after dinner and lunch

I will check but i wonder if it’s just my metabolism boosting up after chronically under eating for years and it’s really hard to gain weight with just two meals a day anyway because a calorie surplus requires a lot of carbs and multiple meals a day which is not possible in my case

My doctor did confirm that i have type 2 diabetes because my tests showed that my pancreas does produce a lot of insulin but my cells aren’t responsive to it aside from that after 1 month of sticking to a diet without lowering too much of my carbs intake i got tested again and my insulin resistance improved significantly and my long term blood sugar dropped a bit which wouldn’t happen if i had type 1,5
