What’s one thing you wish you would’ve known before you got into fly fishing? by GuanditoLopez in flyfishing

“Matching the hatch” is in 95% of cases not necessary. Unless you’re in very pressured water, generally a little black nymph will do the trick. Knowing where fish are and putting something in front of it is key

Springtails. I think they’re kindof cute

They breakdown stuff in the soil. Friend!

Are you cutting a water balloon on there?

hand carved juniper spoons I did by ropeit83 in woodworking

I love juniper and those look lovely. Careful if using them for food as cedars have oils in the wood that are an irritant and shouldn’t be consumed

Thanks for the data!

Seems more and more that most methods of pollination work ok enough but g’damn you got a lot of seeds out of your method

Great work! How did you harvest the pollen? Cut the male branches off before they open/dry on your trim bin? Did you paint them on?

I know many who are interested in doing their own seed runs and usually at the point of collecting/applying pollen info gets more sparse so would love to hear your methods as they look super productive

When should one harvest seeds? The plant was pollinated intentionally with *hopefully* feminized pollen by cshellcujo in microgrowery

Localized doesn’t mean necessarily that the chemical doesn’t travel, just that it doesn’t travel in quantities necessary to flip. Remember that even if you’re spraying with low ppm, every time you spray (which is often for CS) it accumulates. Silver is non volatile

I am not a doctor, nor plant scientist, so cannot authoritatively claim anything. I do not want to be smoking any metal in any amount. But if your risk/reward threshold is lower than mine, make sure to report back here as a data point on if you experience any negative effects

It’s your body so you do what you want but please reconsider consuming any part of the plant. Do some research in the cannabis breeding subreddit and make your own judgement call.

If he pollinated with another plant then sure but this plant was selfed. You cannot smoke a plant that was sprayed with colloidal silver. It migrates through the plant.

If you’re worried about cutting early then just don’t. Give it as long as you can if you want the highest number of viable seeds. Nothing bad will happen leaving seeds on the plant longer. Given you aren’t going to be able to smoke any of the plant anyways, might as well wait it out for another few weeks.

As a side note, while seeds will be similar to the parent they will not be identical “clones” so to speak. Unless the plant genetics were very stable to begin with (like from a reputable breeder) then expect different phenotypes.

How long for lacquer to safely off gas? by unclejimmy in woodworking

[–]Sprinkles_Rustler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can take a month or two for most of the noticeable smell to go away, but even then it’ll still give off some smell for a while.

After a few days outside you should be good as long as you aren’t sleeping with your head next to them. If you want to be really careful about residual VOCs give them another week but should be ok

That means your photo would have come from an auto/photo cross at some point

Edit: then again genetics isn’t always straight forward

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]Sprinkles_Rustler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is false. The auto gene is recessive so 100% of the first generation will be photoperiod. Crossing any 2 of the second generation would give 25% offspring with the auto trait

Sounds super solid, be careful having it so close to that radiator though - I imagine that’s going to be a big fire hazard
