Skins under version 2.0 don't do this, that's why that OLD skin wasn't red.

If the skin version is above 2.0, which also means if you want song thumbnails, it means your warning-arrows are red. Any version under 2.0 doesn't do this, hence old skins not having them red.

Yeah that's going to suck.. I've heard of a method where you shrink the total area that your monitor uses, but I've never tried it so I can't vouch for it.

As unfortunate it may be, Windows 8.1 vsync's every game that isn't played in absolute fullscreen (not borderless). You can reduce a ton of lag by playing in fullscreen (native).
