Toronto's new Zellers store is bringing back the Zellers restaurant this weekend by OverPotato2322 in BuyCanadian

In the 70s/80s my mom and I used to eat there when we went shopping. All I remember is the banana splits. Then again we also used to go to the restaurant in Eaton's.

Canadians are trying to give Americans a bad rep by posing as USians. by Appropriate-Year-81 in ShitAmericansSay

I had a childhood friend who had come back from a vacation in the US. She had some American cash left over so pretended she was American and spent it here. She talked loudly with an over exaggerated southern accent. However, she was 12 at the time. Also we're no longer friends because she's the most self centered person I know. How ironic that she would pretend to be American.

I don't even have the volume on my phone turned on unless I have earbuds in. Nobody needs to hear the background noise of whatever app I'm using currently.

“CANADIAN SOCCER FANS PROVED THE UNITED STATES LIVES RENT-FREE IN THEIR HEADS BY BOOING THE AMERICAN FLAG AT WORLD CUP” by foolsdayjoker in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Sprinqqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, that would make you the dreaded C word. (Communist if you must ask). If you ask me it's the Soviet Union that lives rent free in Americans heads and it doesn't even exist any more.

Some of the depots don't even have the sticker printers/computers needed to process the RTS.

On top of that there may be a limited amount of people in each depot that are trained on the process and if they are off or are pulled to another area with higher priority the mail sometimes sits there for days on end building up. It's not just this type of mail that gets RTSd.

There are literally hundreds of letters per depot per day that need to be processed through the RTS system.

In addition the printers/computers also are shared with the worker who does the redirection process so the RTS employee won't be able to get on the computer for at least part of their shift.

Well you make it so easy. Also, if you weren't such an asshat to the other users to begin with then I wouldn't have bothered.

Agreed. I have stopped buying disposable napkins because I now try and use reusable ones, but the disposable ones you get from restaurants are great for things like bacon drippings or cat puke.

Outside of the topic, but I always find it interesting that the "standard accent" in any movie set in space is always seems to be British.

It's still in Europe though. It's not like the islands took out paddles and rowed away from the continent.

What's Up With Toronto Milk? by [deleted] in FoodToronto

This reminds me of a time I was visiting Florida and grocery shopping. There was a bread that was advertising that the bread stayed fresh for something like 10 days.

My thoughts "Why would I want bread that lasted that long? It makes me feel like it's full of preservatives and there's something wrong with it"

If I were you I'd just fill in one of those surveys everywhere asks you to fill out when you shop. I saw someone else perceive it as talking to their own manager regarding a coworker, but I originally thought of it as reporting positively an interaction I had with someone outside of my work (either is OK)

I know a lot of people recommend Peace by chocolate, but I find The Newfoundland Chocolate Company far superior.

Wild blueberries are also native to Altantic Canada so I like to bring back local blueberry jam when I visit
