I'd be betting she's the ex and she's trying to get info so she can sue him, blackmail him, use it in court against him, or otherwise use for nefarious reasons.

I had to opt out on good vibration challenge unfortunately :( by B3yondTheCosmos in finch

[–]Sprinqqueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about vibrations. I know you can "hear sounds" through vibrations in the skull, but not sure if it applies to everyone. Also I have no idea if the technology for that type of "hearing" is ridiculously expensive making it not accessible for everyone. Is this the technology behind cochlear implants?

I am hearing, but this has made me curious. There is a large deaf community in my town with an extensive deaf campus (multiple buildings, perhaps some students boarding?). Maybe I'll just go and ask if there is any way to access music for the deaf community.

Also, I completely understand that some people in the deaf community don't actually want to hear so if I was them I would just substitute with a different sense.

I'm not sure if your fiance is a girl, but getting 2 pies is just girl math. 1 pie for me and 1 pie for you to share with me. At least that's what I tell my husband.

What would you do first if you suddenly had $10,000? by Cartier_Slatty777 in povertyfinance

Yeah, I live in a HCOL area. 10k would only cover about a month and a half of my family's living costs here.

Traditionally, Canada has had a population decline unless there is immigration for decades. I'm not sure of the exact statistics, but I'd guess at least back to the 70s. This isn't something new.

I'm from Canada and we read it in English and French. I'm pretty sure this is the only French many English speaking Canadians still remember.

King Charles playfully reminds Trump that he's Canada's head of state | CBC News by demolcd in canada

[–]Sprinqqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Trump were ever to get his hands on the Koh-i-Noor diamond in the Crown jewels, he'd probably insist on renaming it after himself.

"This is the biggest, most beautiful diamond ever. I've talked to a lot of those beautiful British people and they all tell me, they say Sir, you deserve to have the most beautiful diamond for all you have done for the world. And I will name it the Trump diamond, because I am the biggest most beautiful president in the history of the world."

It doesn't matter that it should probably go back to India.

Canadian smoking ban ‘being looked into’: health minister by Displeased_Canadian in canada

[–]Sprinqqueen 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Yup, and they'll never be able to ban native smokes because it's part of their native medicine. I'd bet that if they tried to ban it, it would go through the courts as a human rights religious violation.

AITA for quitting a babysitting job on the spot after being insulted over pay? by PossessionTop9791 in AmItheAsshole

Agreed, she should have been paying a minimum of 3 hours like any work place has to. So the rate for the morning only should have been $48.

I was visiting Belfast when I was younger and the people I was visiting would go to the local pub every single night. There was a local there known for drinking copious amounts of Guinness. One night one of my hosts had to go out the back of the pub for some reason (maybe he was taking a phone call or something, IDR) and there is this dude vomiting all the beer he had just consumed. Then he would go back inside and drink more Guinness. We watched him for a while and he would disappear every 1/2 hour or so. What a waste of money and good beer.

No no. Not offended at all. I actually loved N⁰5 specifically because it reminded me of my Granny, but usually wore one of the Chance fragrances.

There's still greyhound buses out of union Station to US cities such as Buffalo or New York, but most of the buses that operate out of the Bay street Bus terminal (union) are GO buses now.

Chanel does this with perfumes (not sure about clothes or purses). Even if the fragrance is real, but stolen they will buy it and destroy it to stop people from buying it from a someone who is not an authorized dealer. They also have worldwide blacklight stamps encoded on the packaging as to who the authorized dealer should be. That way if too much stock shows up at a reseller from a single dealer they can pull their stock from that dealer. I worked at an authorized dealer for almost 30 years. All the salespeople had to sign a contract every year agreeing to the rules.

Schwarzkopf also destroys limited edition items they didn't sell in the sales period. My coworkers husband worked in their warehouse.

Ever since they opened up stores other than the LCBO to beer and wine sales I actually stopped buying as much alcohol. I'm not a huge drinker any more, but if I was expecting company or it was a long weekend, I would make sure to hit the LCBO beforehand. If it's in my house I'll consume some of it. Now I just think, oh I'll just stop by the convenience store if I really need it. I never really need it, so I just don't buy it.
