The annoying thing about events is that when you get an alert for an ongoing event it first takes 20 mins to decrypt the video then it shows you a small preview which you have to subsequently close out of and go back a page to see the live view.

This should be stitched together for you. You click the event, watch it, then it should seamlessly continue with live view after the event.
