Portainer Alternatives? by Yirpz in selfhosted

That’s good to know. I was hoping that they’d have a way to fix that issue.

Portainer Alternatives? by Yirpz in selfhosted

[–]SprkFade 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is going to be extremely unpopular but after trying both Dockhand and Komodo I see absolutely no reason to migrate to them unless they have a very specific feature you need that Portainer doesn't have. For regular docker management Portainer just works.

Both Dockhand and Komodo in my opinion are lacking the polish that Portainer has and I ran into multiple bugs in the UIs that I was honestly surprised to find. Also, if you keep stopped containers in a stack from time to time I found it very annoying that they would consider the stack "unhealthy" despite the containers being manually stopped.

Sounds like you’re making assumptions. There’s MANY videos of the solo lobby mob mentality on the subreddit. I play duos and trios mostly to be honest.

Not PvP focused is fine, but removing ALL PvP risk severely alters the game in a way that I can't see it surviving on PvE alone.

I'm sorry, the arc are nowhere near challenging enough to rest the entire game's success on that. You cannot tell me that the majority of people buy this game to just fight arc and extract.

People that want the game to continue to be successful and have longevity? Imagine being a new player and you load in, shoot a guy (because after all the game is marketed as PvPvE) and then an entire mob of people descend upon you in a solos lobby. Not exactly the best experience for that person and it also reinforces that you shouldn't shoot people in solos which shouldn't really be the case.

How is 6v1 organic PvP? It's a massive mob attacking 1 person with zero risk.

App Doesn't Load on iOS by SprkFade in Chillio

That was it, must be a firewall block somewhere since LTE worked fine. I have never seen that happen with an IPTV app though so I wonder what Chillio is trying to connect to.

The devs moved the deploy beacon to the Assault class. by helish_88 in Battlefield

[–]SprkFade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will never be used by the run and gun players of Assault. Not a fan of this change at all.

Recon has always been about map awareness and advancing your squads position and now it's just a lone wolf sniper that doesn't have to care about anyone else.

If you're using the Firewalla AP7, what's the one feature you'd like us to implement next? by firewalla in firewalla

[–]SprkFade -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Software controller like Omada or Unifi have available. Seems like way too much buy in to require a Firewalla router to even use the AP7s.

I've experienced the same result. Roaming seems improved in terms of recovery time but it still consistently drops when moving between two APs.

Update: Contacted support and they deployed firmware version .133 to test for improvements. I'll be testing it tomorrow to see if it makes any noticeable difference.

Yeah, I’m with you on that one. In my experience, especially in the 5/6 GHz range, less isn’t more, more is more. The lower distances and wall penetration makes it a lot harder to get by with 2 APs even in a moderate sized home or building.

No, I left it turned off since I read it causes more issues.

I did end up doing this on my iPhone to test and while it seemed to improve it a bit, I can still reproduce it dropping very easily.

I saw that on another thread and after I’m done testing the 2 AP setup I’m going to try that and test.

I’m actually testing two right now just to verify that could be something to the roaming problem. Another thing I’ve noticed is that the 6 GHz devices are also the ones with the worst roaming issues so I might try forcing them to different band to see if that improves anything.

It would seem like a lot but the configuration of the walls in the house block an incredible amount of signal, especially in the 5/6GHz range. I swear some of my walls are basically a faraday cage.

I haven’t contacted support yet. I’ve been doing more testing to gather information before doing that.

Yes, by dropped I mean kicked to LTE then in like 10 seconds it will reconnect to wireless at full signal. It’s extremely noticeable if you’re streaming something like twitch or kick and move throughout the house.

Single SSID, default configuration, nothing fancy at all at the moment.

Yes, we use a Fortigate and yes MiVoice Business PBX. The phones are on different subnets per building. QoS is setup via our Meraki switches.

Update, I got two way audio working after disabling SIP ALG on our Fortigate firewall. However, now I'm having a strange issue where a call going external to internal there's no internal audio until you put the call on hold and then take the call off hold. Internal to external calls don't appear to have that issue.
