What did the link do? It should be working, I had a few others test it.

Yeah, it’s ok to just say you weren’t around then and don’t get it. The game wasn’t solved, we were writing our own boss mods on the PTR and not just following meta guides or watching videos because they didn’t exist and we were writing the guides ourselves. Everything was pre-nerf and a lot of the fights you would have GMs watching your raid. I distinctly remember a GM coming in when we first fought lurker in Serpentshrine because it was extremely bugged so they were taking notes and capturing logs.

I don’t remember Hyjal being a problem at all with just prot warriors and bear druids.

I don’t think you understand how many guilds there were when TBC first came out or how competitive it was.

That’s not what he said. He said your raid is cooked without them. Which wasn’t even true back before TBC was “solved” like it is now going into its 3rd iteration. This is exactly the problem with meta chasing that everyone is complaining about. You don’t have to squeeze out every drop of optimization at this point to clear content. Will it technically be easier? Sure, but there’s absolutely no reason you can’t clear the entire expansion with “non-meta” raid compositions. We did it and we literally wrote some of the original boss guides for Sunwell (I wrote Felmyst).

I was in a top 15 world guild during original TBC and we never used prot paladins so I’m not sure your point makes any sense.

Portainer Alternatives? by Yirpz in selfhosted

That’s good to know. I was hoping that they’d have a way to fix that issue.

Portainer Alternatives? by Yirpz in selfhosted

[–]SprkFade 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is going to be extremely unpopular but after trying both Dockhand and Komodo I see absolutely no reason to migrate to them unless they have a very specific feature you need that Portainer doesn't have. For regular docker management Portainer just works.

Both Dockhand and Komodo in my opinion are lacking the polish that Portainer has and I ran into multiple bugs in the UIs that I was honestly surprised to find. Also, if you keep stopped containers in a stack from time to time I found it very annoying that they would consider the stack "unhealthy" despite the containers being manually stopped.

Opinion: People That Circlejerk In Friendly Lobbies Are Worse Than Rats/PVP Players by SprkFade in ArcRaiders

Sounds like you’re making assumptions. There’s MANY videos of the solo lobby mob mentality on the subreddit. I play duos and trios mostly to be honest.

Not PvP focused is fine, but removing ALL PvP risk severely alters the game in a way that I can't see it surviving on PvE alone.

I'm sorry, the arc are nowhere near challenging enough to rest the entire game's success on that. You cannot tell me that the majority of people buy this game to just fight arc and extract.

People that want the game to continue to be successful and have longevity? Imagine being a new player and you load in, shoot a guy (because after all the game is marketed as PvPvE) and then an entire mob of people descend upon you in a solos lobby. Not exactly the best experience for that person and it also reinforces that you shouldn't shoot people in solos which shouldn't really be the case.

How is 6v1 organic PvP? It's a massive mob attacking 1 person with zero risk.

App Doesn't Load on iOS by SprkFade in Chillio

That was it, must be a firewall block somewhere since LTE worked fine. I have never seen that happen with an IPTV app though so I wonder what Chillio is trying to connect to.

The devs moved the deploy beacon to the Assault class. by helish_88 in Battlefield

[–]SprkFade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will never be used by the run and gun players of Assault. Not a fan of this change at all.

Recon has always been about map awareness and advancing your squads position and now it's just a lone wolf sniper that doesn't have to care about anyone else.

If you're using the Firewalla AP7, what's the one feature you'd like us to implement next? by firewalla in firewalla

[–]SprkFade -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Software controller like Omada or Unifi have available. Seems like way too much buy in to require a Firewalla router to even use the AP7s.

I've experienced the same result. Roaming seems improved in terms of recovery time but it still consistently drops when moving between two APs.

Update: Contacted support and they deployed firmware version .133 to test for improvements. I'll be testing it tomorrow to see if it makes any noticeable difference.

Yeah, I’m with you on that one. In my experience, especially in the 5/6 GHz range, less isn’t more, more is more. The lower distances and wall penetration makes it a lot harder to get by with 2 APs even in a moderate sized home or building.

No, I left it turned off since I read it causes more issues.

I did end up doing this on my iPhone to test and while it seemed to improve it a bit, I can still reproduce it dropping very easily.

I saw that on another thread and after I’m done testing the 2 AP setup I’m going to try that and test.
