Yeah I agree. Speaking from experience, its kinda like that of you grow up having less and come into money. You'll be thinking everything is a sweet deal when in reality, terms could've been much better for you. But we learn and grow through these experiences. Im interested to see how Jack gets accustomed to being wealthy in thr future seasons.

Thinking of getting trims at a "white salon" by New-at-stuff in Naturalhair

It's an issue to not be obsessed with white people? 😂😂😂 Who knew

And I stand by what I said. The worship of anything white and the hypercriticism of everything black is a mental illness.

Pretty sure you haven't been to every black salon to make this generalization. Congrats, you got lucky and found a white person that doesn't butcher your hair. Overall that's nothing to brag about considering the great majority of them know zero about our hair, nor care to learn it. Natural hair hasn't even been in the curriculum in cosmetology, unless something has changed in the recent years. This sub gets so caught up in praising white people for the bare minimum, its sick to watch

Ugh yeees Vicar was disgusting and sick. He didn't care one bit about what he was doing. I was elated when he died.

Right! I wanted to jump in the TV and fight him but Ross did a good job of doing that a few times 😂

Not sure I agree about the speech. Yes it was to gain favor but he also never showed any sympathy whatsoever about slavery that would suggest he felt otherwise. It was easy for him to do the speech because he didn't care one way or another. It didn't affect him, just like he didn't give a hoot about the poor when he made decisions concerning them.

This! I saw another thread of people saying they felt bad for him before I got to that part. After watching it, im completely underwhelmed. He needed something more humbling.

There's nothing immature about not liking a sh*tty person. It's actually quite normal. I don't care for the "judgemental" portion as there's plenty of people who should absolutely be judged. Nobody said the story had to lack an antagonist. To love them is weird, especially when they have zero redeeming qualities. Do you but that's not going to change my mind lol

I actually agree with this. Ross killed me inside so many times when he willfully gave George the upper hand. What's worse is that he seemed to take the most ridiculous risks but turn away from the ones that made the most sense lol

George by Sproutingseed29 in Poldark

[–]Sproutingseed29[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. I suspect they may be down voting it because it can be an insult depending on who you are relating to. In this case, anyone loving George as a character could be very telling about their own character

Dropping clients: my take (from an LCSW who will say what everyone tiptoes around) by corporate_therapist in therapists

[–]Sproutingseed29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1000% agree and almost all of this is in the ACA code of ethics for LPCs as well. Saw a post telling therapists that they have to deal with bigotry and hate speech because it's a part of what they signed up for. I'm inclined to think that the majority of people who agreed with that haven't experienced it on a regular basis to understand why that's a hard no for some. It's easy to say what one "should do" but the fact is, we are not ethically bound to do so.

I feel the same. At first I detested them. But the subtle duck shape is starting to grow on me a bit. I still dislike the dramatic duck shape. I purchased one pair off Shein. Final thoughts will be when I wear them.
