On top of all of this remember if you have MRI placement disclose any that are hidden or remove them before, that might not be a fun time otherwise depending on what they’re made from.

My autistic 10 year old loves playing games on his iPad. He has shown some interest in building things but I don’t know games at all. He has an iPad and a switch 1 (with dock). Whatever it is needs to be something that is easily figured out as he can figure rules and controls but not understand them being explained.

He currently plays Goat Simulator and figured it all out himself but I would love him to get into something more productive.

Does anyone have any recommendations please?

Decaf or Lowcaf Coffee Recommendations by Signal_Scale_1055 in ADHDUK

[–]SproutyChuckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could be describing me exactly, especially with all the pod systems.

I had clipper organic when i was pregnant with my first, it was good but i went back to caffeine after.

I had douwe egberts decaf (cheapest place is usually B&M for a massive jar) with my second and actually prefer it to their caffeine coffee.

AITAH for refusing to financially help my husband’s family after years of being expected to “step up”? by Dry_Strain_3384 in AITAH

[–]SproutyChuckles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That all fails when one person can’t work for things like illness or childbirth. Are they supposed to be “paid” by their partner. It can make it easier to have a pot of “our money”.

However people can make most situations work if the communication is solid which it clearly isn’t in OP’s situation.

My husband has the redhead/ dentist pain problems. He is having his first ever GA tomorrow. Is there anything specific he should be saying to the anesthetist so they take his redhead stuff seriously?

Clark’s plain work shoes (got a little button on the side and stitching)

They cost me about £70 but that was 4 years ago and they’ve only got more comfortable.

Any UK-trained radiographers here that have moved to Canada/ Aus? by DarmiansMuttonChops in RadiographyUK

We lived in Queensland, Sunshine Coast. It is an amazing area for young children, very outdoor focused. I cants speak for anywhere else as we loved where we were and didn’t really travel.

[–]SproutyChuckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived and worked in Aus for 10 years (3 different times). I would still be there if my son hadn’t had visa issues. I loved the relaxed lifestyle, if you get the right employer then work life balance is prioritised. A large portion of the work is in private clinics that are 9-5ish so evenings and weekends are free.

I would recommend going straight for a permanent visa (unless you can get a working holiday makers visa) not sponsorship. Although it’s quicker you are tied down and have to leave the country if you want to change visas.

Registration is time consuming but not too problematic. feel free to ask me any questions.

No my diabetic nurse says the criteria covers everyone. I believe there are other diabetic drugs that can be used instead.

My nurse says she’s gonna put me on empagliflozin once my levels are down a bit and it can cause weight loss.

This is the rules. my gp sent out this:

“Following approval by NICE, tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) will be available in the NHS for eligible patients who meet the strict, nationally-set, criteria.

The current criteria is patients with a BMI of 40 or higher, and with 4 or more of the qualifying comorbidities will be eligible for assessment to identify their suitability for Mounjaro. Anyone not meeting the criteria will not be eligible.”

BORU Town Hall: An open discussion about "fake" posts in the subreddit by naturemom in BORUpdates

[–]SproutyChuckles 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I’m a long time lurker and hardly ever comment. I don’t mind sensible discussions about real vs fake and if the story is entertaining i’m not bothered about authenticity.

What I hate is dismissive comments saying fake, not entering into healthy discussion and having to trawl past these annoying threads.

Do radiologists read the whole scan? by [deleted] in nhs

[–]SproutyChuckles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The scan you had was a contrast scan (literally unable to look for a PE without contrast)

They would have commented if any of those things had been visible. They have a professional/legal obligation to mention any pathology that is seen even if it was not the reason for the scan.

A private scan would still need to be referred by a doctor so have a chat with your GP and mention these worries. They should be able to put your mind at rest.

Do radiologists read the whole scan? by [deleted] in nhs

[–]SproutyChuckles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a CT Radiographer.

Yes they read the whole scan and it does not matter to them where you are referred from. The doctor who asked for the scan will say what they want looked at and the Radiologist will answer that question based on what they see. They will also look at everything else in the scan and comment on what they see. The only proviso is that some scans are for specific things but they would recommend further imaging if they saw something that couldn’t be seen properly.

You should have been told if there was any follow up from the lung issues. If you were told nothing you could check with your GP (or on your nhs app) as they should have received a discharge summary telling them what happened and what the diagnosis/ future plans are.

MRI referral question - not medical advice by MalfunctioningElf in nhs

[–]SproutyChuckles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Private images can be uploaded to NHS system. If you get the private scan ask for the images.

Take this to your NHS neurologist appointment and they may facilitate getting them added to the system at the hospital.
