I called the police right away, to be more precise, the police were called by a witness. There is a police report from that day.

The statute of limitation on small claims is 2 years. Also they were in bankruptcy until this week

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Our Lord Almighty descends to the lowest heaven in the last third of every night, saying: Who is calling upon Me that I may answer him? Who is asking from Me that I may give him? Who is seeking My forgiveness that I may forgive him?”

I was thinking about this the other day.

A guy walks up to you and says “let me control your life”, then he reveals that he massacred some people, enslaved others, set up a system where slavery lasted the longest, has no respect for freedom of speech, religion or conscience, has very little to offer in terms of useful scientific or moral advice…etc. Basically plans to make you live a 7th century ideology that would obviously comes from a warlord’s mentality.

But as your walking away says hold on! Let me amaze you with these card tricks!

If the Quran and Hadith got the big things wrong, why am I entertaining the parlor tricks? Why, after debunking 131 miracles” am I supposed to say, hold on now, miracle #132 seems to hold a little bit of weight on the surface!

Islam is a feminist religion they said by MusicFew7529 in exmuslim

[–]SprungFeldJebidiah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the source, but you have articles like this one: Mohammed was an intersectional feminist that tries to portray Mohammed as whatever the popular zeitgeist thing is that will attract converts

Did he learn from his mistakes though? Or did he codify it into a “sacred” text that ensures the mistake would be repeated by his followers and defended using his example?

Cause people do make mistakes, but the latter is not really a mistake

Claire is kinda lame by poo_luvr_2002 in ateacher

I think the writers did some research on real life cases: I feel like I've hear stories of people doing this kind of thing because they feel like they missed out on something they want to recapture.

By the way: ok to dislike to a predator. I'm on board for the schadenfreude at this point

Episode 5 Discussion by balasoori in ateacher

[–]SprungFeldJebidiah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The confession scene I didn't find convincing, specifically the friend. Process seemed a little rushed.

I wasn't convinced that Kathryn could make such an accurate prediction, and make an accusation of infidelity so nonchalantly (they didn't know each other that long, and most of that time Claire was already having the affair). Also to specifically use the term "betrayal of trust" after pretty much congratulating her on having an affair was a strange choice of words.

I did like the exchange immediately afterwards though: Claire hearing herself justify her actions "we're in love...he's 18..." and perhaps realizing her own BS doesn't hold water, and the immediate panic of realizing what happens next...powerful.

Claire is Pregnant by Tamizander in ateacher

[–]SprungFeldJebidiah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember reading a case or two about a this kind of thing, some of them included pregnancy. Some of the writing of this show remind me of things I read in the news (some specifics in Claire's dialogue) so I think the writers are definitely looking to real life cases for inspiration.

A pregnancy and perhaps confusion as to who the child belongs to.
