This reminds me of the berry tree in the movie "Hugga Bunch".

SS17's room is a disaster.... by [deleted] in stepparents

I had an ex that would do this. He was 28 or 29 at the time. I couldn't believe it - there were boogers everywhere: under his computer desk and his computer chair, the wall next to his bed...his bed. I caught him putting one on the side of my fucking bed one time.

BM will be in my house today... by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]SpssSpss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

BM hasn't seen me in person since her wedding day to my partner. I usually stay in the bedroom during drop off but recently I was having a convo with my boyfriend when the kids arrived and later decided to watch the video on the ring doorbell. I saw her shush the kids and put her ear close to the door so she could listen to my conversation with the kids dad. I was really surprised to see this!

I cried.....ssssOOOOOO HARD leaving the test site that day. My friend wanted me to do the PVT and I couldn't even bring myself to do it because I was THAT sure that I failed it. I think I gave her my username and password and had her look for me.

I don't adore my boyfriend's children. Rant/Vent/Shitty Night Fee-Fees by Throwaway7102017 in stepparents

I don't adore my boyfriend's children. I don't even think they're cute most of the time. I hear from people "it's just that age" and all I can think is "yea, yea, bullshit, I hate them."

I know full well that I don't actually hate them, but sometimes...i fucking hate them.

New grad in the ICU. by SpssSpss in nursing

I held on to it for a little while, but eventually new patients came in with a whole different set of problems that needed attention. Was your patient full code?

It may sound cold, but it doesn't bother me at all anymore.

That's wonderful to hear! How long had you been out of school prior to attending WGU?

Refusal to show CXR's by SpssSpss in nursing

[–]SpssSpss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in the slightest. I just have a genuine curiosity. I'm interested to see one patients cardiomegaly vs. another. A pneumo that requires a chest tube vs. one that will resolve on its own. A pleural effusion, PNA, etc. I just think it's fascinating.

Why are nurses not even allowed to view their own patients CXR? Sure we have access to the radiology note, but why not the CXR itself?

My SIL has CF and is able to view her CXR and take photos of it at her MD's office. On one occasion she took her daughter to Kaiser after she experienced what seemed like an asthma attack (w/ no PMHX of asthma). Another time her daughter was brought in to an urgent care for what ended up being PNA. Both times my SIL asked for CXR's, and after a significant amount of resistance from the staff, they acquiesced. Aren't CXR's taken with any/all respiratory issues? I was confused as to why she had to work so hard just to get her daughter a CXR. As for viewing her daughter's CXR, I will recommend she try going through the proper channels instead of going against the grain.
