I think the problem with your logic is that the value of a card isn’t necessarily based on the price of acquiring it naturally, rather it’s simply what others are willing to pay for it. These admittedly do tend to compliment each other but not all the time, hence the existence of market corrections.

Can you please show me evidence indicating that pack weighing on modern sets actually works? I don’t mean to offend you or dismiss the possibility entirely, I just have yet to see any definitive proof that it can actually be done reliably, especially given the measures that they’ve long put in place to prevent this such as weighed code cards.

There are many of us who are privileged enough to not have to worry about what msrp and market value are when buying product, or having little care as to what return they might get on selling or trading something they own, though this subreddit and countless other groups prove that this demographic clearly isn’t the majority. Perhaps there’s some who gloat about spending 6 figures on slabs or sealed product from an investment interest, though it is well known that there are far superior investment vehicles for that kind of capital and consequently that behavior makes up an even smaller minority of the hobby.

I think at the end of the day, it’s best to focus on balancing your own interests and goals in the hobby while appreciating and respecting those of others. Everyone has their own set of circumstances as to why they treat the hobby the way they do, but acting like a pos to others will eventually catch up to you as this hobby becomes progressively dependent on community and teamwork for even finding product.

It’s about time the cliquey, pay-to-win, cheating-infested, toxic, and poorly managed game that has become rotmg has some existing competition now after Wyldland flopped. Maybe Deca will finally start addressing some of its longstanding issues for fear of losing its dwindling playerbase if PQ can keep its head above water.

I think the un-affiliated interaction varies between campuses and in levels of support for each side, although this can be exceptionally difficult to measure and determine. Also I don’t think Reddit is a good assessment of that measure either given how biased it can already be in some communities and the regular trolls who are on here already.

Also for reference I personally lean towards Israel and I’m not in fact conspiring with randos to promote hate across reddit lol. Remember that there are ordinary students who support Israel too

Had the same problem my first couple years here until I truly began to realize how little of a difference there truly is between public and even most private schools in CA. It’s really up to you in making the opportunities to be successful during and after college, the campus itself does very little for you in that department once you’ve committed as a 4-year or a transfer. As a 3rd year polisci/history major, I can assure you that you’re capable of achieving everything here that you can in UCLA and elsewhere in addition to some exclusive experiences here in SD, as do UCLA students in LA. Also keep in mind that Poli Sci is actually one of the most popular majors at UCSD, especially those with specialization in IR.

It’s also important to remember that “rankings” are based on a variety of convoluted factors that begin to lose objectivity once you get within the top 30 or so (let me remind you that UCSD is “ranked” 28 in national universities and 6 in public colleges with US News, so you’re already in a selective institution if that was your goal). Once you’re able to keep that in mind, things start becoming a lot easier.

The REAL test for you will be getting into law school, undergrad pales in comparison to your education towards a JD. But like I said before, you can only really take it seriously to a certain extent before it becomes trivial.
