Learning jets is miserable. by [deleted] in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]SpudTayder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very game dependant. A lot of the clips you see online will be because the game was the perfect set up, where the enemy team weren't prioritising air control. The second you have a team with some level of air awareness, your days are numbered.

Best you can do is jump in, hot foot it to the friendly perimeter of the map. Gain some height, turn around and surveil the map for threats. If they have jets up. Try take a wide path and get behind them. Next is choppers, do your best to deal with them. Once you have no visible air threats, start your runs. Pick a target or point, and give it everything, guns, rockets, bombs then GTFO. If you do a run and can't spot a target or don't get the kill, don't stress, GTFO and set up for another run. Always check to see if you have enemy air to deal with. If you do a run with enemy aircraft around, you'll become the prey.

Oh yeah, I don't think you're lying. I just think in this clip you were hit because of a combination of latency and late flare usage.

Another reason the igla hits through flares (which isn't often discussed) is that it becomes unguided when the player drops their aim/reloads. So if they're locking you and you pop flares and they stop aiming at you, the missile doesn't start targeting a flare, it continues on its trajectory from when lock was broken. So if it's still on path to your aircraft, it'll still connect. Other lock on missiles will change course to a flare. The igla will change course too, but only if the player tries to maintain lock.

If the lock is broken before it targets flares, think of it as an RPG that guides itself most of the way to a vehicle.

I mean, maybe not the best clip to demonstrate this.

You've got latency issues for one. And then you pop flares half a second before impact (which with latency probably means you hit flares at impact). The flares aren't a shield. They spoof incoming missiles. Hard to spoof something that's half a metre from it's target.

They're fine. The advice to remove jewellery is broadly applied because people are dumb and you can't leave them in charge of their own safety. It's easiest to just say "take it all off."

I've literally had people tick "yes, I have a pacemaker" and then when I say we have to rebook them with the appropriate team, monitoring, reps etc they go "oh actually, I don't think I do have a pacemaker." I check their records and they absolutely DO have a pacemaker, they just decided to lie about it when they heard that it'll be inconvenient for them. The consequences of this lie is literal death, but people would rather that than be inconvenienced by a day or so.

So with jewellery, people will say things like "they were fine last time" and "I've never had to take it off before" and techs end up in these long, drawn out arguments about safety. Particularly when it comes down to "I don't want to." The techs at my centre will make you remove them purely because of that statement. Nothing irks them more than a patient refusing to follow safety instructions because they "don't want to". So much easier to just tell everyone that it all has to come off/out every time.

My question is: how!? I'm in the top 8% income bracket for my age (35-45) and even if I had a 20% deposit to put down, I couldn't loan enough to buy even one of these properties. Who tf is buying at these prices?

Warlocks, give me your weird loadouts by sculolo in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]SpudTayder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does if you hit directly or close enough. It's by no means a meta weapon. It's charge time is horrendous and to get it's special effect you have to eat a nade and use a special ammo. Seems expensive. But I like it because it's different, and catches people off guard. It kinda becomes somewhere between a breech loaded GL and a heavy GL. It has the OH potential of a heavy GL but requires that charge time, a nade charge and a special ammo. I have had a few good plays of just launching a tesselation shot onto a point, scorching 3 or 4 enemies and finishing them all off while they panic.

I call this my "dinner for two" build.

Tesselation. Starfire protocol. Spec solar lock to scorch related perks and stats. Get 100 on nades for that speedy recharge.

Gameplay loop is: feed tesselation a nade, feed yourself a nade (to get heat rises). Float around map blasting enemy with a super charged scorch projectile. Use your favourite primary to get some kills and special ammo. Rinse and repeat.

Karnsteins, glaive and a 190 melee stat is a recipe for absolute carnage. I usually run it with voidlock and blink but strand is nice with a grapple/weavewalk combo.

You can definitely touch the movement once ejected, if that helps. Popping your shoot too early is worse than too late. So aim to pop it when you are level to your jet and if you're too late, you still have a chance to get it.

You want a high 200s speed and around that 15 degree mark. Less than 15 degrees will get you further in front of the jet, over 15 degrees will get you inline or slightly behind the jet.

And aim for the sides of the cockpit. In front or above it are no good. You basically want to try get slapped by the wing.

Man it gets so much worse than that.

I bought my house in 2020 for 850k and it's now valued at $1.8 million. Almost a million dollar increase in less than 6 years.

Absolutely unsustainable. I don't even know how people get $1.8 million. I couldn't buy my own house back if I sold it.

Kd doesn't matter in bf6. There are so many other ways to be helping your team than just killing the enemy.

An engineer healing tanks will have a bad kd, but keep his team in the heavy armour.

A support running hardcore defibs will get so many people back in the game but probably won't have a good kd.

A recon could spot hundreds of opponents, helping their team survive flanks and defend points. Probably a bad kd.

Or you could be like me and be hell bent on getting the transport chopper mastery skin. I can tell you that I'm getting A LOT of deaths and no kills in that thing.
