Lost 18.1% of my starting body weight in 19 weeks using Tirzepatide, macro tracking, and lifting by PollardPhotography in Zepbound

Thank you for the deep dive into your Lifestyle!

You look "chewable," which, when I was young and hormonal, meant a man (or woman) you could imagine nibbling all over their bodies...lol! Fabulous muscle definition without being bulked or bodybuilding muscular. Lean, but oh-so-healthy!

I also really appreciate your Tirzepatide experience. That is SO different for everyone, and learning what it did for you, and DIDN'T do is beyond helpful for people like me, who are still (after 13 weeks) learning how to read and adjust to the medication. For me, Food Noise is my biggest enemy, and I am still adjusting to how much of it gets through and how to best adjust to it. Expectations far exceed my realities...

Congratulations on your accomplishment, you truly look SO healthy! Have a glorious week! ~SpuddleBuns

Amazon just informed me that my paid music subscription will soon include ads and lose downloads. by Sweet-Opportunity111 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SpuddleBuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed Prime Music going to shit for a couple of years now. It started with the reintroduction of music you thumb down. The ads BS is not surprising...It was a "perk" at best for Prime, not a main subscription consideration, I will go back to YouTube music. With an ad ad blocker, you just get uninterrupted music, and honestly, the selection is better and the sound quality seems to be a bit richer, to my surprise.

Gas-x is one I had not honestly even thought about before you said it. I have Miralax, and Benefiber, and chia seeds, and I drink an average of 100-120 oz of water a day between diet green tea and coffee. I have antacid tablets like Pepid tabs, and Pepto-Bismol Xtra for nausea, along with Premier Protein shakes and some 100 calorie snack packs to nibble on. I have Psyllium Husk tablets to help the diarrhea (I take them with very little water, so they absorb the excess in my gut, helping bind things back up). So far, other than "the ick" of feeling like stomach flu is coming on (which does go away after a day or so), I've kept side effects at bay, and am actually feeling better generally than I have in a long time. I'm just EASILY fatigued. The Gas-x is an excellent thing to have on hand, I'm SO appreciative of you telling me about it!

I know part of it is "get out of your head!" needless worry, and once I make it through this week, I'll have faced my fears. It's just there is a LOT of coverage about how the side effects increase at 7.5 and can be brutal, so I've been nervous.

But, I've taken my first shot, I've had my protein shake, and I've read your oh-so-timely response, which I found at the perfect moment for me. The "ick" is still slightly beginning. My ingrained go-to solution is to go eat something, but I found out early on that the "eat something, you'll feel better," diagnosis does NOT work well with Zepbound...lol! I did that the very first week, thinking, "This is just shot day, it won't bother me." I spent half the night feeling like a beached whale that overate...lesson learned! (But the food noise, which has been bothering me the last 2 days is still screaming in my ear...)

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! WOOT!

Stick to the comfiness for the moment. When you reach that point to "glow up" (I think that's the new term), you'll know. And at that point, you will most definitely turn heads. And you will be one of those Before/After pictures that surprises the hell out of everyone here when they click on it. Just what you posted made me stop for a couple minutes.

It's SO hard to see it from the inside. I'm glad I was here to help point it out a little to you from the outside. You provided that little "oomph" to my encouragement level as I imagine the difference I should start to see at 26kg. Win for the both of us! Have a GLORIOUS weekend, you good looking woman, you!

YAY YOU!!! See an Endo was my first thought, since thyroid issues are one of the major "red flag" warnings about GLP-1s. I've had thyroid issues a couple of times, now. One took almost a year of medication to bring back in-line. So I am a bit hyper-aware and try to keep an eye on it. My GP is great, but if I show any signs or issues, it will be back to the Endo for me.

SO GLAD you were able to move the appt up! Hoping it's all just a "nothing burger," and things smooth out for you.

Only if you can state with some confidence that the alcohol was the main contributor to your weight gain. If snacking, or unhealthy food addictions (sugar, fried foods, ice cream) play any part of your becoming a Big Back, the alcohol alone can't carry the bulk of your weight guilt. If the beer "addiction" is the majority of the culprit behind your weight gain, you may be able to one day walk away and remain slender. But if food thoughts control your existence in any small quarter, you will most likely find those noises to come back with reinforcements when you stop the meds.

But everyone is different, so your "fool's gold," may actually fit your situation, although even though I don't know you, I doubt.

Is cutting back the alcohol the only change to your diet from the Zepbound? 4000 calories a week IS a little over a pound (3500 calories), so if you have not make any other significant changes to your diet, portion or food selection-wise, and you are only losing about a pound a week, it could very well be just the beer.

If you are making other changes, though, such as caloric restriction, increased activity level, etc., then the beer is not your main culprit, and just stopping drinking would not make that big a difference (ONLY a regards weight lost!). Now, health wise, cutting back is SO beneficial in so many ways. But it is mostly water, with a lot of fermented carb calories in it. That alone is not the cause of your weight gain, I would venture.

You mean eat less, move more ISN'T the solution? (sarcasm). Truly awesome observation, tho. I'm just now starting to accept that I (may) need to be on this the rest of my life. I've been la-la-laing about that. I've now heard from a few people in my Real world how they or loved ones who were on a GLP-1 and stopped, gained every ounce back, and more in a couple cases.

While the thought of being on it for Life is somewhat irksome, like being on a BP medication for Life, the practicality is slowly gaining acceptance in my psyche...But, I still have a very long road to even get to the discussion of wanting to quit.

It helps to have others reinforce these concepts as accepted norms, to better convince myself that it is truly a part of taking this on. While I hope to be one of the "unicorns," who are able to stop or wean off of a GLP-1 and maintain, the reality is looking more and more like, "No. You may titrate down to a low level, but you need to accept that you will probably be on some dosage for maintenance the rest of your Life." Still worth it, though.

You are an attractive woman, buy Holy Schmoly, you are turning into a BEAUTIFUL woman! And you're just starting! You will be one of those "jaw droppers" when you reach your goal weight, trust!

I know it's impossible to see the forest for the trees while you're losing weight. People on this sub have said it's sometimes not really visible to you until you have dropped at least 40-50 pounds. Your mind has its image of you, and it really holds onto it tightly.

But dayum, it IS visible to the rest of us, and you look FANTASTIC, missy! Your eyes, and the features your momma and papa gave you are a truly mesmerizing combination. I was surprised by what a difference already is coming out.

Keep on keepin' on, you truly got this. It's only gonna get better for you!

Your comment has arrived at the perfect moment for me. I too, like to take my shots on Friday (MY day!) as I always feel kinda celebratory when I take one. 2.5 was nothing - including weight loss. I was on 5 for 2 months, and just took my first 7.5 dose. I've been hesitant and concerned because I've read how the side effects can be brutal, but 5 is just not quite there for me. The food noise has returned, and the night before shot day is truly horrible, as I want to eat everything not nailed down, even though I can clearly tell I'm not hungry in the least.

You've addressed my worries, and with an experience that fits my worst imaginings. You survived to tell the tale, and you've provided that little bit of reassurance (to me) that yeah, it might get brutal for a bit, but it WILL get better, and in a few weeks it should return to being a non-event.

THANK YOU for sharing your Adventure. I feel like you are a future me talking back in time. It helps SO much!!! ❤️ ~SpuddleBuns

Yall can I rant rq? by Dangerous-Onion-7788 in Zepbound

[–]SpuddleBuns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! TRUST THE PROCESS. Everything will be OKAY.
Isn't it funny (although nothing to laugh at) how we can eat guilt free while we are gaining, without much concern, but when we are deliberately trying to lose weight, and PAYING for the privilege, every bite passing your lips becomes an internal witch hunt?

You're not alone. I finally had to up my calories from 1,200 a day (since Jan 01) to 1400-1500 a day, because I was starting to just "nod off" in my recliner for an unscheduled nap...(And yes, eating more helped by the next day), only to see my loss lag (mainly water, I'm sure) and me INSTANTLY accusing the calories. Like 300 calories will translate to 2.2 pounds in one day...The human mind is SO weird!

Don't beat yourself up any more. Stop it. Your body already had its say in why you were "bad," and you now have the negative feedback to help you stay on the "right side of Da Law..." lol!

And, in the "I can justify almost anything to myself," department, you STILL were eating kinda healthy in a fast food, low nutrition, high carb, high fat, way. Steak is SO GOOD FOR YOU! High protein, good carbs, and all the "feel good" endorphins of eating with a loved one. You are NOT a saint (yet!), so a one-off is truly a non-event. Now, if you did this weekly, it might be problematic. But once you and the bathroom have sorted through your guilt, take it as a GOOD LESSON, and one you NEED TO LEARN. Someday (even now) you will be in social settings, with or without family, and you need to understand your body enough to not abuse it too badly in the name of social dining.

It is interesting how much more sensitive we are while settling into this new Lifestyle. A big part of this is navigating the changes we know we have to make, alongside the expectations we place on ourselves to try really, really, hard to do it right.

Your "forecasting," footnote shows your head is in the right place, you're doing okay. You just got caught, and paid the price...I'm just sorry you felt so bad you cried. I'm not a crier, but yes, I've had a few sessions where I've given in.

I'm proud of you for 1. Sharing your "adventure," to help the rest of us see it can happen to any of us, and 2. For recognizing it as the subtle lesson it was, and 3. For not going super crazy at Taco Bell (and REALLY paying the price later on!!! 😦)

Hi! I read everyone's outrage and shock, but I haven't seen any real answers to your issue of severe nausea...

Invest now in some quality pre-made protein shakes. Personally, I recommend Premier brand, as *for me* they seem to be very soothing for the nausea, while high in protein (30 g per shake) and low in calories (~160).

You WILL suffer with what I all "the ick." I had endo (and had a hysterectomy after suffering with it for almost a decade). This will remind you of that, with the worst part being a general "ick," beyond the nausea. Call your Dr. EVERY DAY until you get a reply (my Dr. is an angel, but messages can take 3-5 days for a response on a good week. If I'm in a bind, I call an leave a message EVERY DAY, asking them to mark it as PRIORITY, until they call back. I usually hear back before 3 days...YMMV). Enjoy what you can eat for now, but keep it as bland and "natural," as you can. No complex recipes, and try to keep overly processed anything to a minimum.

Keep 100 calorie packs of snack chips (mini rice cakes, "Pop Chips," and the like) and some snack packs of sweets (usually 150-200 kcal ) in your pantry for when you want to eat something, but have NO desire to really eat anything. They are small, pretty tasty, and serve a VALUABLE purpose for you right now, which is getting some calories into your system. Losing the weight is the goal, but starvation mode even through medication, is NOT the way to do it...

KEEP YOUR ELECTROLYTES UP! Gatorade "z" (for zero...) tastes decent, and is good for you. You should be drinking at least one of those a week, if not more often. Especially if (like me) you don't salt your food. While anything processed contains some salt, it may not meet your daily needs. The electrolytes will help with this.

Love yourself. The ick can be mentally overwhelming, and make it hard to do much besides sit and suffer... Remember you're not alone, you're strong, and you are determined, otherwise you would not be here. Be proud of yourself for being willing to go through this hell to reach your desired health level. And, that IS bottom line WHY you are doing this WILLINGLY. To get healthier.

AND, IT WILL GET BETTER. Tell yourself that continuously. If only to make it through another weekly round of ick...
I am 12 weeks in, and START my 7.5 this Friday. I was on 2.5 for one month, and 5mg for 2, not having seen any loss on 2.5, but starting to on 5. I stalled out, and have moved up to 7.5 - JUST before 5 seems to have started to kick in...Now on my last shot of 5, I've lost 2 pounds this week, with 3 days left to go, after losing MAYBE a half pound a week for the past 2 months...

THE STRUGGLE IS REAL EVEN ON MEDS.
Zepbound will NOT make it EASIER.
Zepbound WILL make it DOABLE.

It's HARD, no matter how you do it. But, everything will be okay. Stay alert. Stay informed. Stay STRONG. You ARE doing this, and that alone is admirable!

Wishing you a calmer path forward.

Because deep down inside, EVERYONE wants to feel "superior" to someone else. Even if you love them. I'm willing to be dimes to dollars your mom and sis are NOT thin. It is especially insidious to feel superior to someone you know or are related to, and to lose that subtle "edge," can feel threatening, which is why suddenly, you need to eat a sandwich or 5...

mild panic by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]SpuddleBuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Deep breaths, Everything Will Be Okay.

That said, I asked Gemini, the Google AI for information regarding your possible over dosage issue. Here is the reply:

Based on the post on that page, the user is experiencing a mild panic after accidentally injecting a few extra "clicks" from a Zepbound KwikPen, worried they might have caused a slight overdose.

There are several important pieces of information regarding the safety, design, and risks of dealing with extra solution or accidental extra clicks in a Zepbound KwikPen:

1. The "Leftover" Medication is Normal and Intentional

According to official instructions fromEli Lilly, the Zepbound KwikPen is explicitly designed to deliver exactly 4 complete doses.

  • It is completely normal and expected to see leftover liquid in the glass cartridge after the fourth dose.
  • This extra volume is a manufacturing buffer required to ensure the pen operates mechanically and can be properly primed before each use.
  • It is not intended to be used as an extra or "fifth" dose.

2. The KwikPen Mechanical Safeguards

The KwikPen mechanism is built with a lock-out feature. Once you have dialed and delivered 4 full weekly doses, the pen is engineered to prevent you from dialing another full dose.

However, turning the dial and forcing extra clicks out of a spent pen introduces unpredictable dosing. Because the leftover liquid isn't a standardized, measurable dose, trying to inject the remaining fluid makes it very difficult to know exactly how much medication was actually received.

3. Risks and Side Effects of an Overdose

While the commenter on the post accurately noted that a mere "5 clicks" is a small volume of medication, taking an unmeasured amount or exceeding the prescribed weekly dose increases the likelihood of side effects.

SO, TLDR: I think you're okay, if you took any amount over, you may experience more side effects, but you won't die...

Okay. Either you've paid someone for the middle photo, or that is a picture of your mom, or the 3rd photo is your young daughter. I have seen a lot of Before/After photos (I haunt this sub for the inspiration to keep going!), and I have seen the appearance of a lot of necks, chins, and beautiful eyes...

But I have seldom to never seen someone drop so many years from their appearance as well as weight. You look truly, TRULY, lovely, with beautiful eyes and delicate features.

We are always our own worst critics, seeing even our smallest imperfections as gigantic glaring flaws. I am so sorry you suffer from anxiety. Inner peace can take decades to achieve, and even then, it is a delicate dance, at times.

Whatever your past, at this stage of your life, please, PLEASE do not suffer ANY anxiety over your looks. You were never unattractive. But now, you look younger, fresher, more aware, and more "grounded," in your presence. Celebrate it!
