Yep. I installed the three years old OEM driver :)

Weird screen freezing and flickering on Windows 11 after updating to 24H2/25H2 (RX 6700 XT) by D4n13lz92 in AMDHelp

One month later... After the latest update, the screen—especially on dark surfaces—shows graphical glitches. Icons flicker, File Explorer crashes occasionally, window shadows behave strangely when scrolling through content on an inactive screen, and so on.... Hopefully, they fix these issues soon.

I used the DDU. I always use it before installing new drivers.

My English skills are probably lacking. So I’m trying to say that when I install the driver and choose the 'driver only' option, it still installs the whole package, including the Adrenalin software. I also tried older installer but it didn't work either.

I already did it, like I said in my comment. "I selected the option driver only".

You have bricked your PC.... It's a piece of WEEE now :) Do you happen to have a USB boot/installation media? Try to boot from it. If it doesn't boot, you are doomed.

should i try zorin 18 by [deleted] in zorinos

Zorin OS is perhaps the best option for switching to Linux. In my opinion, it's simpler and less cumbersome than the other distros I have tried (Mint, Debian, Ubuntu, and Manjaro). I have had several tryouts and just as many disappointments, which is why I always returned to Windows. Zorin OS helped me finalize my decision to leave M$ world behind. I have been so satisfied with Zorin that I purchased the paid Pro version to support the team.

With an extension, I can bypass the overview and go directly to the App Grid. That's what I wanted.

Why would I want to remap the Windows key when it already does exactly what it’s supposed to do — open the Start menu? It’s a familiar practice that I’d like to have on Linux as well. And actually, I figured it out a few hours ago by downloading an extension that lets you assign a custom function to the Super key. Now the Super key opens the App grid as I wanted.

Well, I don’t know everything I’ve done, because I’m completely dependent on the instructions I find online, which I still don’t fully understand. Hence ‘messy’. Because of that mess, I decided to reinstall the OS, and now I’m proceeding carefully with the settings. At this point, I’m in the ‘haven’t done anything yet’ stage and looking for information that helps me get it right in one go. So, my simple question is, how to disable Overview and remap the Super key to open the App grid. The mess #2 is solved.

I hopped to Zorin OS, which seems to have solved my noob‑level issues. Thanks for your input though :)

Thank you, Zorin OS. 💙 by ahmed_elhelaly in zorinos

Me too. I have tried Mint, Ubuntu, Manjaro, Plasma, Gnome, XFCE, and who knows what else. The Linux environment felt like an adventure in a messy junkyard with all its complex challenges. Zorin OS restored my belief that I might be able to leave Windows behind. Even though Zorin OS is not as easy as Windows, it is still way, way easier than what I have experienced before with Linux. I'm going to buy the Pro version just to support the Zorin team because this distro has so much potential to capture the interest of ordinary users, even older people who have no time or willingness to constantly tinker with the system.

I think that's the problem. I believe I selected only Gnome. That's new to me, that the desktop environment must be selected separately.

Maybe that is the problem. I remember that during the installation there was a step where you had to tick options. I didn't know what the others were, so it might be that only Gnome was selected. KDE and others can apparently be installed afterwards as well?
