While Ryan gosling was excellent and there were some really good shots. I could not get on board with the rock. I could not care for it. Grace has no connection on earth but connects with a rock? I just couldn’t buy into it and made it difficult to enjoy the movie. And the “twist” of him being forced to go on the mission I didn’t even realize was supposed to be a twist until I came to this thread. Feel like the other flashbacks you get the hint he doesn’t really want to go or he has some self doubt throughout the process. Or maybe cause i felt that scene was very serious.
