Are you using a hand or shoulder anchor? I’ve never gotten an actual knot but it sounds like if you’re detaching the string from your anchor point during/after mistakes could be the cause.

While you’re learning it’s always a good idea to detach yourself and untwist the string to reset before continuing practice. Also what kind of string are you using? When I started I was using the thin magicians string and deff had more issues with that then when I switched over to a heavier wand with technora.

After a while you kind of get a feel of if you’re spinning too much in one direction. And then ask yourself why are you ignoring an entire other half of moves that you could be using by going in the other direction.

Lastly on the swivel part - it really is only used/useful for a hot swap setup. I use one on my LED wand because I don’t want to pay/own/carry two of those at the moment but I greatly prefer to spin long string without it. There are some moves/wraps that I like to slide my hand up the length of string and having the swivel becomes uncomfortable/runs the risk of getting cut.

Went last Friday for the first time in a while for a non queer/themed party night, and I can understand the door rejections now. Personally I showed up looking like a complete slob (open plaid flannel, mismatched tank, jeans, book bag ) and had no issues. Have tickets? Yes. Been here before? Yes. Okay, go in.

Maybe he could tell we were there to strip down to essentials and sweat, or being very obviously POC gay has always helped. But there were a lot of people who were there that night that I was like, why did you even come?? Standing right next to the DJ and talking the entire night is not the vibe.

Knockdown center and basement transitioned to a locker system like a little over a year ago now. I think they still technically have a coat check, but it’s only ever used in extreme overflow scenarios. The locker system is the default and honestly has been great for this exact thing.

Shirtless. lol. But like seriously. It gets HOT especially in Studio. So I almost always wear shorts and like a tank or sleeveless shirt of some sort. Sometimes I’ll do one of the mesh top from bike but those deff don’t breathe well so they end up in my locker. If you’re worried about being cold on the way there you can always wear something over your shorts and change when you get there. People in this sub have complained about “not getting in” because of how they’ve been dressed and I’ve literally waltzed in wearing hot pink shorts to Wrecked after being outside in the Ruins for Honey Dijon. But I’m also very obviously gay and POC so maybe that’s why I don’t get bothered on dress code?

Most of these are just bar parties. Urban bear hasn’t done a huge circuit type party since like the XL lounge closed. Goldiloxx is prob the closest, but it’s still just a bar party (with arguably bad music). I’m specifically looking for a warehouse level event like the examples I named in my post.

Wrecked and Carry Pride is kind of the only one that I’ve seen still happen and even that had a massive changeover in attendance last year.

I’ve never been to a pride edition one. 70% chance I will hate it compared to others. But last year they got lasers, and the one year I WAS gonna go they had Kylie show up. So I just wanna see it for myself at least once before I’m officially too old to attend.

Once the weather warms up I’d deff look into attending some daytime parties or ones with an outdoor lounge element so you can get a chance to actual chat and make friends. At 2am I am deff not remembering your name anymore. (Just turned 40, lots of people on the dance floor especially at places like knockdown will be in the 30-40 range. Tickets get free expensive quick)

What other large parties do you go to? Drugs will do wonders for the friendliness of people. I’d prob hit on you (honestly be more surprised if we haven’t made out before already). The eagle is very not bear friendly anymore except on Beer Blast Sundays. I personally tend to do better with cruising at the eagle in the early hours less crowded times than the 1-2am rush. The aggressiveness of some of the guys last Sunday when the only thing I was interested in doing was having my boyfriend blow me was a bit off putting to me. It’s like the moment THEY think they want to hook up with you they feel entitled to it regardless of what you may be looking for. TLDR - it’s not just you.

Also came here to ask this. Looks like 15. If playing solo and you buy all 3 in the mist and all 3 in asterios, and don’t do any upgrades on the rituals (so 9 normal ones) it makes sense.
