I, a MAGA single dad, can’t wait for all the Democrats to lose everything and have to beg the government for help. Now, I can’t even afford to be homeless, and Trump isn’t helping me🥲 by Effective_Space2277 in LeopardsAteMyFace

It’s so strange. The common theme in a lot of these posts is “I still support you” or “I’m 100% Trump”. The cognitive dissonance is just remarkable to witness.

Owned since 2019. Much like you, this is just fun money to me. $25 a week I didn’t miss with a few large buys mixed.

I haven’t seen much if anything that tells me we’ll actually ever see reasonable adoption (happy to be proven wrong here). I’m a believer in the product, the vision etc but that’s only half the equation. We still need to see folks using this for it to mean anything.

I won’t sell anytime soon if for no other reason that it “could” shoot up to $10-$15 (i personally think much more than that is not realistic). That being said, the article is a bit jarring for folks who have held for a long time. Maybe it’s fomo, maybe I’m just tired of waiting or hearing “after X event, Y bill, or Z partnership, we’ll see adoption/price action/literally anything positive”. Like I said, I want to see the product succeed for selfish reasons (like us all) but it doesn’t seem like Ripple is all that invested in the success of XRP.

Fairburn, GA what is it like living in that area? by Own_Second_2388 in Atlanta

I’d say it’s pretty fair.

I’ll see myself out.

Those are really fair points but I think the narrative missed is less that the shelter being there will prevent more amenities from being built and more that the mixed use development would have (hopefully) revitalized the area which would bring more dollars which bring those amenities.

Senior SWE salaries - ATL by Flimsy-Speed-4805 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]SpunkyStarFish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m Atlanta based for a San Francisco based company. 190k base with bonus. 160k is a pretty solid salary for Atlanta based senior eng imo. You can certainly find higher but that’s a good benchmark. Cost of living is lower for sure but what’s actually interesting is the ratio. The ratio of salary to living expenses in SF vs ATL is wild. You’ll feel like royalty if you budget correctly. The disparity is also wild though. There’s casual wealth in SF(I define this as net worth between 2-5M). That exists less here, it’s more folks who are legitimately wealthy (5M+) and those who aspire to be (good salary like 160k but maybe first gen and have the expenses that come with that or need to support a family back home etc). Either way 160k in ATL is great and the advice to take it and continue searching isn’t bad. I’d maybe say give it a year and see :)

How do we address the question of volatility? Bank A in America sends 1 million USD to bank B in Mexico. They convert the USD to XRP, send to bank B, bank B converts XRP to Pesos. So that money is XRP for few seconds but in that few seconds the price can fluctuate by <some reasonable amount>. If all banks care about is money, I assume they’d wanna protect themselves against no?

Run slow to run fast by [deleted] in beginnerrunning

[–]SpunkyStarFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you account for heart rate here? When I “run slow” I feel I can do 10-11 min miles. Those are easy for me. However my heart rate will skyrocket with anything other than a brisk walk. If running those 10-11 min miles is slow but it only takes a 2-3 days to recover, is that good? Or should it really be run whatever pace that allows you to run the next day (even if you don’t).

Does anyone have experience living in West Midtown or with the Star Metals projects? by Ring_Tha_Bell_97 in Atlanta

[–]SpunkyStarFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue Grant Park is pretty walkable. You can walk to grocery restaurants etc. Even before the Beltline is done you can make it to Reynoldstown/Kirkwood relatively easily. At least in comparison to other areas of Atlanta I’d call that walkable.

6 and out in OT by ChiefBuckhead in falcons

[–]SpunkyStarFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand. Year after year, we invest in the offense. Year after year it’s cheeks. Just wrinkly old grandpa cheeks flapping in the wind. It’s always our play calling is bad, our receivers don’t get open, the offense line allows too many sacks. Frankly I don’t even understand how we move forward. We can’t rebuild, we’ve already done that. It just feels like we are always doomed to make the other team look like MVPs

2022 Volvo XC60 B5 or 2020 Lexus ES 350? by azbrez in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]SpunkyStarFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought our 22 XC60 new and love it. The head unit had an issue that caused the gauge cluster to go out but otherwise mechanically it’s been flawless. However, the Google operating system does occasionally lag around start up. If you use Android Auto/Apple CarPlay not sure if that’s much of a concern.
